Bring the quick guy that I am, I just stumbled on this RR. Outstanding job! Really wish we weren't on opposite sides of the country, cause I'd like to ride with you. Looking forward to the three Clysedales rr.

Mike is still happily married and they just had their first child this year. His motorcycle hasn't moved more than a few feet since we returned from our trip 3 years ago. I don't see him embarking on another motorcycle trip for many, many years.

Loved this RR. Hope the Clydesdales' antics are just as amusing.

After 7 long years of living in secrecy, this ride report is finally in the hands of the guy who actually made it all possible...the famed Mike! We're still working together after all these years and we've recounted this adventure a hundred times to the amusement of at least 6 or 7 people, but he has never actually seen this story. Other friends and coworkers have read it, but fearing for my safety, they opted not to share it with him. They made it known to him that it existed...and that he was the fall guy for a hundred pages of jabs and jokes at his expense...but nobody actually gave it up. It's been so long that I had forgotten that he had never seen it. Last night, during a text exchange where he proclaimed that I still owed him the money for the extra quart of Yamalube that I made him buy somewhere in Nebraska or South Dakota on this trip. I countered with my own demand of compensation for taking him on a "once in a lifetime journey". He said he'd pay me when I send him the link to this elusive thread that no amount of Googling had uncovered over the past 7 years. Then he said "Are you afraid this will be the thing that gets you that ass whoopin' you've been asking for?"

    So I sent it.

Standby for photographic evidence of the ass whoopin' that may ensue...

7 years without Mike finding it - congratulations!! Definitely want to see ass whoopin' pics - you've got reach on him, but he's pretty sturdy. I think it'll be a fair contest.

Yeah...he's built like a keg with legs and arms...I'll never knock him down. I've been poking that particular bear for 14 years and he's never lost his cool. If he loses it now, I'll be laughing all the way through said "ass whoopin'" because I'll know that I finally broke him. I will have finally won! He'll never give me that satisfaction. I think I'm hoping that by reading this, he'll want a Part 2.

You can only do a part 2 if you promise to write it up again!!

Only three pages in and loving it! Gotta bump this up to the top so others read it. We could all use some of this excellent hilarity about now.
