    As above.

I just hired a 2 ton excavator with a tilt trailer.

It had 2 fat 4x4 shock absorbers to calm shit down as you "tilt"

Worked really well. You'd be fine with 2 regular car shocks.

Yeah I had been thinking about that. I might delay building the ramp and try it when the outfit is finished although it will be used for solo bikes as well so either way it will still need a full width ramp.

I don't like using single ramps due to my crook leg.

Not only that but the ramp will be removable so I can store it upright.

Slow progress on the paint work. Still waiting for a fuel tap and filler cap and bung.

Trailer tilt hinge works perfectly. All welded up. My welding is getting better. Even tried some vertical welding and whilst not pretty it will hold.

I have 2 Ali fold out ramps that I'm thinking I might join the two together and whack some Ali mesh over the top and weld some hinges on. Might just work and it will use some ramps I've had laying around collecting dust.

    It works.

Had to make a couple of small mods to the hoist mounts.

1st attempt and trailer drawbar would not go past 90 degrees and the trailer got stuck in the upright position due to the cable being caught up in one of the safety levers. Had to call the neighbour over to give me a hand.

Took off the cut out switches and now it works beautifully. Tried without the drawbar on for a test then attacked the hinge with a grinder and put the drawbar back on ( and sprayed some silicone lube which made a big difference ) and lifts straight and true however I will need to make a little "dolly" for the drawbar so it moves when I lower it because when I go to lower it the drawbar sits on the ground. Great for when it's stowed but not when I want to use it.

As you can see from the side view it takes up very little room. I still have to make some minor mods to the hoist mount to make it stronger but it should work out nice.

Looks like I will need to move the fridge to make some more room. First world problems, I know :photog

Whacked the ali pieces for the floor on just to see what it looks like. Not bolted yet.

Neat work. I had my sea kayaks hanging top-in on the garage wall as the roller door mechanism stopped me using ceiling straps as I had in my previous house.

Well i've had an eventful night. Some arsehole decided to see how fast he can drive down my street in the wet.

Lost control and took out our fence and tree and did a runner.

Car is not registered but not reported stolen ( probably has now by the offender ).

So all morning it's been phone calls to various companies for a new fence and tree removal.

Oh well, we wanted to get rid of the tree anyway and I need a break from the shed :lol3:lol3:lol3

Good one. The hoons - bikes and cars - have been out in Magill for the last couple of weeks and the speeds are insane, especially with all the small cross streets.

Trailer and hoist are finished. Still have to make the enclosure for the trailer but it can now be used.

You can see where the winch is mounted and where I will mount the wheel chocks for solo bike use. I will use the LHS wheel chock mounting holes for the battery mount for the winch. Just 4 bolts so will only take a minute or 2 to take off.

I've strengthened the hoist mount to stop it from flexing too much. Just some minor adjustments and all done and then get stuck into the full width ramp.

Then I can get stuck into finishing the forward controls of Mad Max.

Any chance I could borrow the trailer next weekend ?
Reckon a day will be sufficient.
    Day rate, or hourly ?

Ok trailer finished and raised into it's stowed position. Will make a ramp later. I have more urgent things to finish.

I'm going to get a full size banner made up to fit between the wheels to cover the underside of the trailer and just to make the area look neater.

    I'm thinking something like this.................

    trailer banner 1.PNG

To go between the wheels of this......

Now to finish the S2A 350 while Nick is painting Mad Max.

    That's a good idea OSR.

Maybe something like the background of this Ferrari flag.

Hopefully the banner place can overlap graphics. I assume they can.

Top and bottom are perfect. The middle needs integration work!

Thanks Steve. Yeah I agree about the integration but there's not much I can do.

I wanted an image to show the bike and Mel Gibson and Steve Bisley and that is the only shot that shows all in one scene.

I will see what she can do with it.

Ok my Daughter come through with an update for the banner.

She softened the edges of the photo.

    See what you think.
