An impromptu adventure ride between Makman and myself was planned during our 20 year high school class reunion last night.

The plan was to seek out Adventure and Adventure was what was found!!

Some State Game Lands [access] roads provided a good warm up for the events that would take place later in the day. Makman on his 1200GS.

This typically means do not enter. But does it mean do not exit??

Next stop, Swatara State Park. There's a nice dirt road running through the park for serveral miles. We found an offshoot not posted "CLOSED TO ALL VEHICLES" and got to play in the mud a little.

Makman on his 1200GS. Let's get that bitch dirty, she likes it dirty!

Who says BMW's aren't water cooled!

Try as I might, I couldn't talk him into going through this.

    In search of...

    Township Road 426.

I found it. Makman had to hook a u-turn and scope the approach.

    Ahh, there it is!

Anytime I go riding with Nightstalker it's a must to bring the camera just in case he wants to play around with his KTM...

    Right through the mud

A few inches of thick, tar like mud.

Stay on the gas and watch the mud fly!

Full rear wheel spin and he's posing for the camera.

This was further down in Swatara Park right before we exited.

I think he pondered a crossing but it looked way too deep and there was no real run up at the far side of the river. I had camera in hand in case he wanted to have a go at it.

This waterfall led to some good fun on an unmarked State Route somewhere near Swatara Park.

That's all I took. Nightstalker's camera has the bulk of the shots. Thanks for another great ride and a chance for me to improve my skills. At times today I thought I was in way over my head but I managed to get out unscathed and without any drops.

I tried to talk Makman into the "OPTION" but he wouldn't bite. Let's stay on the "Road" was the decision. It's not really much of a road.

    The "OPTION".

At least the "Road" was down hill.

So, I must be retarded or something. I get this real brilliant idea, it went a little something like this, "Dude, I'm going to ride uphill through this mud and rocks and come down this waterfall. You take pictures!" It didn't exactly go down as planned.

    The approach, everything is good.

I'm cased out on a boulder. Back tire spinning in the mulch, front tire stuck on the other side of the boulder.

It took awhile, but I managed to get turned around and back down the way I came.

Stuck in all that muck, I needed a good cleaning! Thanks Makman! That's a great shot!

I was giving it serious consideration! But that's a long way to fall from a 480 pound bike. That and I have to go to work tomorrow.

Nice report. I would have come along if you called me. Went two up with the wife on the 640. Went to fire tower lookout, then to the gorge lookout, then went home got on that brand new k1200 gt to see how much of the tire tread i can use. Need i say i went to the limits.
