They've been saying that for years but it's too important as there aren't many other huts nearby. They've just stopped maintaining it. It's quite exposed up there so useful just as a shelter.

Looks like you guys had an awesome day for it. You don't get many nice days up there.

Took my E-07+ off yesterday at 5,500kms. It possibly had another 1k in it if I just stuck to seal. Put a Moto-oz on. Would have preferred a E-07 Dakar but no can do now :(

Off to try the new one shortly...

    Video from yesterday.

After upgrading my PC I discovered Microsoft has ditched its Movie Maker software and replaced it with a far less capable video editor....so this video is a bit of a learning curve.

Yep my E07 is toast but I got over 10,000 k out of it. Most of that was seal though, if It was on terrain like yesterdays I doubt it would have got to 5K. Thinking of a replacement.....whats up with he E07 Dakar? Can you still get them?

PS: ya missed a good one yesterday....assume the wefiddy had a flat?

Yeah, no more Dakars, only E-07+ now. I used to get nearly 10k from a Dakar. Motoz was okay today, although the gravel was pretty hard packed with no deep stuff.

And yep, all the air escaped from the rear of the WR as well. It was the valve core. Replaced it at repco but compressors at 2 service stations would not work. Got home around 10 where my compressor pumped it straight up... Bummed I missed the ride but at least I got the rear changed over on the 10 and then got to give it a blast today.

they're still advertising the stock E07 so that will do me. The solid strip through the center of the Motoz's (and Heidenaus K60 150's) puts me off them for gravel.

Stock as in non-Dakar? Yeah, not a huge fan of centre strips in deep gravel. K60's were shockers. Guess I'll find out...

yep, just the plain old E07 that I'm currently using. Lasts for ages and pretty good gravel tire. Not much chop for anything else but I'm not doing a lot of sandy beaches anymore :2cryso its ok.

My brother bought one in February....he loves it. Looks like a great bike for trail riding. Paul's handled highway speeds no problem on our Takapari ride and it excelled in the twisties. Don't know if I'd like to sit on it for the 2hr ride he had to get back to the Bay....but an ideal bike for dual sporting for local trails I guess?

Yeah, it's not fun on the road but anywhere else it is just amazing. We spent over 4 hours doing around 70km yesterday - only saw 4th a couple of times and 2nd was pretty much the gear of choice for a lot of the riding. Riding up creeks, steep rocky stuff and the most fantastically slippery clay you've ever seen...You just point it where you want to go and hammer it. And ya can lift it out of trouble spots...

Rode Colin's one. His seat concepts seat is great compared to my plank. Getting on his felt like getting back on the Ten - his tank makes it a lot wider :) I want his exhaust system...
