Just follow this thread
Yea I was along there a few weeks back, it's really overgrown now with gorse and broom.
Heres how it looked when me and Taz went along the track a few months back, this was one of the clearer sections
Still, Port Underwood is as pleasant as ever:
No don't plan it for next summer - plan it for this time next year - when the weathers better
I'll start working on increasing my speed
Pete show us a pic from the end of the head then I'll be envious
Heres the few pics I got today with my average cell phone, I really need to get a new camera
Bucky admiring the view
Woodman coming up the road to the summit.....
And the Trig at the top, according to the map it's 1696meters
Who needs a modern bike aye?
Awesome ride and good to meet some new faces,
And because it was such a nice day to take photos.....here's some more
I'll put Dawn on the back to slow me down
Hehe, good effort. I am surprised your top box stayed on. I never liked those.
Top effort mate
The road must've been a lot less rutted than our ride up there
Hmmmm.... I'm sure I could get my brick up there too
You should come on our next ride. You could carry our supplies in those panniers.
Don't need a fancy touring bike to tour. Hahaha.
Hope there is some bike action happening today? Awesome weather.
Na we did the walk up top the two damns up Essons Valley today, bloody lovely weather for it.
Also took the truck over Port Underwood and around towards Tumbledown Bay yesterday, the road has taken a hammering but it was smooth and a little muddy.
It'd be awesome fun on the bike
We went to the dog show for a while and then drove out to Marfell Beach for a walk. I am looking forward to exploring the Port Underwood area.
The ridge track is in a very overgrown condition at the mo but I reckon you'd handle the R80 fine along it as it is not as steep or rough as Altimarloch was.
I'm busy this week with a mate from Aus staying (hunting, fishing, 4x4ing, all that fun stuff) but I might be available to do a ride over there next Saturday or Sunday depending on the weather?
Sounds good, let's hope the weather holds
Got a new plate, too. So I am good to go.
Hi all, new to ADV so time to make contact. live in Blenheim, ride a suzuki Djebel 250, one of those with a headlight off a train and a tank the size of a small mountain, they have now been changed as i picked up a full set of DRZ plastics.
like Ben i'm into VMX but unlike Ben i'm at the back most of the time ( you get to see more that way). looking forward to meet up with you guys at some time, have a mate with a DR250 who's keen to get some km under his belt as well.
always keen for a ride and a drink....
Welcome along Kiwibul, a pleasure to have you along.
Are you the VMX racer with the Djebel and a shed full of bikes who lives next door to Tony?
That's what we specialise in. Looking forward to meeting you.
yep, was it your XT that Tony used when his bike shit itself. just finished rejetting the Djebel/drz alot better now, the japs run them lean.
