Not a long gravel road, but scenic at the end. This is at the end and there's enough in this photo to find it.

I got lazy and didn't ride around the house, plus a car was in the way.

As I seem to remember from years past, it was frowned upon to post obscure clues to a location. I guess times are different now, and I really appreciate it.

Well once in awhile doesn't hurt anyone. No way I was ever going to identify the lock.

While someone was riding to the defunct trains I got some BBQ from Julie in Booneboro. I did tell her who sent me. She was delighted. Introduced me to her son. I realized on the ride home that this wasn't the best BBQ i ever had, although the fries were close, but it was in my 10 best meals. In the middle of a pandemic Julie followed the rules to stay healthy and was welcoming, open, and delightful. That meal, and the curves on alt. 40 sans traffic, made my week. Go get a meal from Julie.

WTF??? It wasn't meant to be a spoon fed give away and was relatively easy to Google!

It was clearly a lock keeper's house on the C&O and there are only so many of those. The unusual back (why I used that view), orientation to the lock in the distance, and fact that it was on the end of a gravel road cut that number to just a couple. Then on one web-site alone are 6 images of the building! https://www.pbase.com/kujoseph/lkhsecocanal

Maybe that's why the tag only sat there for 20 hours?

I’m sorry you took my compliment the wrong way. I really appreciated how much of a challenge it was to figure out (please reread what I posted earlier).

    New tag

Fairly close to the last tag. This is a fun twisty little backroad. Follow it to get into some really cool other backroads. Even a few dirtroads in the immediate area.

I probably wouldn't have found it either. Sometimes its the simplest clue but hard to find if you don't have the right term. "lockhouse"

Great day for a ride, though the temp dropped on the other side of the hill from the tag.
