I agree whole heartedly, weiner specialists they were.

But I sits and thinks, about the line Katoomer could have used to coerce them to be included.:dunno

It couldn't have been "weiners anyone?" or "I've got a bunch of bikers, a bunch of weiners, any one interested?" Naw it couldn't have been any of those.:huh

We may never know, unless we buy the "Secrets of Katoomer, a guide to the perfect pickup line" book when it is completed. Movie rights too?:loco

You need a picture of your boss with a goat. Time off won't be an issue again.

Yes Legion, enthusiam like hers is truly hard to find these days! :evil

Not to burst any bubbles about our esteemed colleague Katoomer, but I heard that Dick's son Matt, the bartender at the Downtown lined up the fair lasses, and Katoomer merely offered them his pearly white's :D and an arm or two as a proper escort to the festivities. :ear

Not to downplay Katoomer's considerable charm and feminine acquisition skill sets, but methinks the credit lies largely with Matt. But hey, my source of this tidbit was a Gruver and there is a plausibility factor to take into account. :huh

BTW, the Transalp is newly shod with rear tire and tube, and safely home in the stable. Barb, at Alaska Leather had a nice tire for me and Kevin (the service manager) at Hartley Motors did a real nice job of getting me in and out quickly. I recommend them both very highly!

    Wellllll,

That is a movie deal that went right down the drain for poor old Katoomer.

It would seem Mr. Mike is pretty hooked up with the Dawson ladies then.

No sign of visaliacraig yet. I PM'ed him, and wrote about your contact request.

His itinerery, puts him in my area the 23rd. I'll let you know asap.

    and legion,

With photoshop anyone could be pictured with a goat at almost anytime.

I am going to try to do the McCarthy trip as well but with my work schedule still unconfirmed, it is not possible to plan on it yet.

But if the Gus goes so will the Mrs. gus. 2 up and away we ride!

If the truth be known, ......it was the Bartender Dillion who line up the "Hoes". Much as I, or others would like take credit, this belongs to Dillion. I was gratified to merely have them take my arm as we entered the "games".

Ok gentlemen, my plans have changed.

I will still be camping somewhere between Chitina and McCarthy on Friday the 15th but will be heading for Prudhoe early early early Saturday morning, camping around Coldfoot or the Yukon river, and hopefully rolling into Anchorage sometime Sunday afternoon.

Gusgus will be leading the way to Prudhoe once we meet up in Fairbanks.

Anyone joining either portion of this ride?

Well the magic 8-ball said "outlook not favorable" for this trip so I think I'll go to Hope and maybe kill some fish. There is a "secret" fishing hole that lends itself to lots of salmon waiting to be excercised. Mostly chums and humpies, a few reds.
If the humpies are in, we coukld go to Hope and race for pinks!

Looks like most folks are heading to different places or staying local this weekend. If anyone is still going drop me a line...I am going to ride somewhere (not quite prepared for a Prudhoe run) before heading back to the salt mines on Monday.

I was going to go to McCarthy but there's no way I can get away Friday (short handed at work) and Saturday everybody seems to be going to Deadhorse, Circle or points between. Fishing sound like a plan for me. And that might even fall apart depending on the work that needs to be done around the house :bueller at this rate I'll get enough time to sneak off to Cottonwood Creek.
Haven't even been through the Pass yet. Sheesh!!

I am planning on a Saturday morning departure for McCarthy. The plan is to just get to McCarthy Saturday night and head back to Los Anchorage Sunday. A friend of mine from work may come with me. We would be camping somewhere in the McCarthy/Kennicott area. I would also be open to leaving after work on Friday and going part way Friday night and then on in to McCarthy Saturday.

BTW John, I watched the Moto GP race on TV looks like you had a good day for the race. Hope to hear more of the details this weekend.
