More like misfire at idle
Someone once told me that most fuel problems are electrical, they were correct on occasions
Good diagnosis leads to better outcomes even if the prognosis is problematic.
Has lumpy bikes, check, does weird and wonderful things for self amusement, check, has an amusing hobby, check, is happy to share the journey, check.

1973 Kawasaki S2A 350 is now completed. All there is to do is fire her up but that will be for another day, hopefully soon.
33 years to finish but boy have I had some fun in those 33 years ( 1/2 of them I can't remember ).

I think erratic sums it up ( usually because of the lack of funds or too much alcohol in the past or both ) .

I was told that on the wall at the Carter Carburetor School there was a sign that read:
" 90 Percent of carburetor problems are ELECTRICAL !!! "
Of course that was back when there were carburetors.
Back again. Been reasonably busy. Tried bogging the spare GS750 tank and failed miserably so decided to have a break from that and do some much needed work on the K1100 outfit.
Took the front brake master cylinder apart and cleaned all the years of crud off of it. I had very little movement on the lever so I knew something wasn't right. What a difference a good clean and new fluid makes.
Front and rear brakes works nicely without any binding.
Took the sidecar chassis off the bike and modified the chassis. It used to have a swingarm suspension and half the chassis was in round tube.
Now it has torsion bar suspension again.
I can hear all the " what the [email protected]#k, I thought he would never go back to torsion bar suspension after bending the last one" and you would be right however I think I found out why the last one bent.
For those that came in late, a couple of years ago I nearly got stranded 1500km from home in the middle of nowhere because the corrugations bent my torsion bar axle.

Anyway I found my spare torsion bar suspension that I would normally take with me but didn't ( Murphy well and truly got me that trip ) and I noticed that it was a different size. The bent one was for a lighter load where as my spare is much thicker therefore used for a heavier load.
A eureka moment indeed. There was my problem. I've used torsion bar suspensions before and never had a problem but I'm starting to think that is because I've had the heavier load block on. It's been a while since I used torsion bar before the last time so I couldn't remember which one I used in the past.
Anyway I thought "what the hell" lets try this heavier block this time and see what happens. This time I will make sure there is a spare in the sidecar.
I also cut the round tubes off the sidecar chassis and replaced it with square tubing because if the torsion bar suspension doesn't work out ( again ) it will be much easier to fabricate a swingarm suspension mounts.
Also nearly finished the sidecar body. I moved the table to the nose of the body and made a support pole for the lid. Where the kitchen door is I'm going to make a swingdown step so I can get into the tent easier.

Table moved to the front. That swings out of the way when I set the camper up. Note I'm getting a cover made for the front of the camper this week. Under the table are 2 round access ports and they store all the spares like fuel pump, hoses, saw, filters etc, etc. I even have a spare walking stick in there. Many years ago I accidently left my walking stick at a servo about 400km north of Alice springs and it was only when I got to Barrow Creek and went to grab my walking stick did I realise, oops I left it behind and I wasn't even pissed. Thankfully I always carry a fold out stick with me
Support pole. Note all that I have to pack now is my food and clothes. That black object on the right of the fridge is a fold out solar panel. Note the toilet to the left of the fridge. Very handy out bush.
Traction mat, spare tubes, scissor jack and under the jack are 2 long tyre levers and the square black object is the cooking plate. That sits under the kitchen/stove.

Anyway once i've made the step I will post a photo.
Got a sidecar show coming up in 4 weeks so will take it to that. Won't be the prettiest or cleanest but will be the most functional
Once the step has been made I will attempt the GS750 tank again.

Finished the step. So much easier to get into the tent. Takes my weight easily.
Just waiting on the camper cover and it's finished.
