Yes, working with what we had...we didn't have it, so we made it. What Burt Monroe did was fairly normal, he just got more famous. Although we are more ''English'' than our Aussie mates, the car and bike scene was heavily influenced by the US. First Hells Angels Chapter outside California....but no Harleys, everyone rode British bikes. The '70's was kinda special here...because I was there.

The steel wheels were widend by splitting the rim and welding in a 2'' ring.

    Congratulations on finding Cuzzibros Wilderbeest.

Thought I'd posted this video? I had a look through the Banshee box with the endoscope then found the culprit of the rattle and the ally powder in the oil.
The lock up, it's very poorly made.

Poorly toleranced and sharp edges left on the edge of the dogs.
I got it touch with MBD and they called straight away to say the pressure plate was theirs but the lock up not, I remember where I got it now, a guy I no longer deal with. He reckons the BB type will wear as well and cost £200 so I'll get some new dogs laser cut from 5mm plate, have already ordered some 5mm ground hardened dowel pins.

Interesting week so far. Current house rented out so on the move, not been in the pub until tonight, accidently made 200+ litres of heavy water at work, made a goood looking beef Randang tonight.
Anybody here have any experience with WPR Mile Master piston rings?

When you look at it that way, I've not had any issues with them either!

200 liters of heavy water? Seems like there might be a story there!

If you freeze it into ice cubes, do they sink? Or alter the taste of your martini?

An HTO cocktail, nice. I'll suggest it. Got to get dressed up and clean it all up tomorrow! :nah
Let me get my bearings.....Vinnie mains in 5/8" x 13/16" x 5/8" one ball race, one two piece roller. The 1950's codes were difficult so just measured up and they are available still.

The head I think I'll anodise gold DG style, if it looks crap I've got some really good gold caliper paint from Poland that might work ok.
The rest of the motor will be gloss black I think.

Black with lettering in gold of course.

Gold anodizing is real hit and miss...
Depends on how the alloy absorbs the "colour"
    Once asked for Ohlins gold.
No worries mate, done loads in that gold.
    Ended up more KTM orange...:2cry

Paint the head, and detail the lettering with the same. :drink

Tank is off for repair and spray. It split a while back but the repair is leaking ever so slightly, I'll put some isoprop in it and see what's what before deciding what to do. Good opportunity to give everything a good check over, it must be about 6 years old now.

This is the repair and the green dye from the race gas gives some idea the leak area.

I got some 5mm pins for the yellow bike clutch in the post and some Vincent foot peg rubbers, one will be used as a pull start for Vinnie.

    thumbnail (6).jpg

And farmer John turned up with this. I try to avoid work on other peoples bikes but John is a friend of a friend and I'm not quite sure what happened.
Study the pics and you'll see what it's in for.

About 20 years ago, I'd say that was a shrewd investment.
