    Hello guys,

Is a mechanical inspection needed to plate a motorcycle in NWT.

Does it matter if the bike has a current plate or not if the province it was purchased from?

    Thank you for the response.

What is the most common media used to buy and sell motorcycles in Yellowknife?

Kijiji? Any others the locals use?

Simply put I am considering riding to Yellowknife next summer, selling my bike cheap at the last minute and flying home.

I am just exploring my options right now.

Most common in YK woud be the local paper at www.nnsl.com, and www.yktrader.com. What bike is it, what time of year would you be trying to sell it?

    Thank you for those links.

It's a 1988 Yamaha Venture touring bike. Probably in July or August is when I will try to sell it at the end of a trip.

I am trying to get maybe 400-500$ out of it. I am just doing reasearch to see how hard that would/will be for a Quebec plated bike to be sold to a local there.

I can't see it being any trouble whatsoever (unless Quebec has some freaky laws about it, but people buy and sell vehicles with out of province plates here all the time). I have bought vehicles in other provinces before and flown down to them with NWT plates that I got here, all I had to was screw them onto the vehicle and voila. Should be a piece of piss. Heck, perhaps I'll take it off your hands - if you're riding it here from Quebec it can't be that much of a beater bike!
