Sorry everybody but we pretty much knew this was coming.

PG&E is not going to open their campgrounds until June 15th.

Not having the rally two years in a row is depressing.
However, I'd like to get an indication of interest of maybe having it
in the late summer or early fall. The Lake Pillsbury basin doesn't open
to OHV until September 8th and that's the last day PG&E says
Fuller Grove is open. I'm going to ask them if they'll let us have a week
later. they've been flexible in the past.

Also, we could maybe have it in August, we just wouldn't be able to ride the
trails around the camp ground. We'd still have a large area to ride in.

Or, we can just wait until next year.

Please provide me with some feedback since so many of us are sitting at
home, it'll give you some mental stimulation. Well, unless your bingeing Netflix.

SanGJan will be refunding $ next week. Luckily we haven't incurred any expenses
    so full refunds!!

Time to start collecting $. When you do your name will go on the in list.
Please pay via paypal Mendorally@yahoo.com. Again it's $80 this year.
Please put your ADV name and your real name in the message section.
Also, use the friends transaction and not the business one.

I'll post the list towards the bottom of this posting. Now it's getting real again!

Ok, it's February and time to start this year's Mendo Rally thread.
I'm copying much of the previous thread since I'm too lazy to come up
    with original content.

Newcomers, this is really a fun event. Please check out the threads from previous rallies.
Again I'm too lazy to write up all the fun we have and how well we eat. I'm sure some previous rally goers can comment on this.
If you have pictures feel free to post them up.

The planned dates this year are Wednesday April 29th thru May 3rd.
That means we'll have our great Fuller Grove campsite Wednesday through Sunday nights.
Of course this is based on PG&E having the site open, which they have always accommodated us in the past.

The price is $80 this year as long as the camp fees haven't been increased. Which doesn't look like they have.

Fees include camping, dinner Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
It also includes beer, drinks and snacks. Snacks include bagels, muffins, fruit and other things so you can usually make some sort of breakfast too.

Menu will be similar to previous years but since it's our 10th anniversary maybe we'll
something new in. I know last we didn't have a camping rally but a few of us did
do a ride so we counted that as #9.

For payment we'll do PayPal. PG&E says we can't reserve our site April 20th.
I know that's a little close but they changed the reservation system. Don't worry
about it though, nobody has ever made reservation as early as we do.
I have their direct contact info and I'll see what I can do.

Remember too, this group campsite is limited to 50 people and it's for tent camping.

If you have an RV you can stay at the Fuller Grove individual site campground,
all of 3 minutes away. And you can still have meals and hang out with everybody. RV's
are allowed at the group site but take up too much of the available parking.
And, if the group campsite fills up the overflow folks can set up camp in the individual site.

Remember the Rally is the camping event. Not an organized riding event. Riding is whatever you and your friends want to do.

For people who haven't been before the location is at Lake Pillsbury in the
Mendocino Natl Forest in Lake County CA. Here's a link to google maps.
It's a little less than 3 1/2 hours ride/drive from either San Francisco or
    Sacramento.

I don't know if all of Penny Pines and Middle Creek trails will be open but, that being said there's plenty of great riding in this area. It should be interesting too. With much of the area burned it's amazing to see the terrain, much of the time you can actually see where the trails go rather than just riding though the trees. The riding areas just east of the campsite weren't affected much by the fires.

I know this description is a little short but most of you know what to expect
after nine years, but feel free to ask any questions or make reasonable comments.

We'll start taking reservation the first week of March. At that time we'll post the PayPal
address and SanGJan will keep track of everything.

Now you're welcome to indicate that you'll be attending and we'll start a preliminary list
and when we start collecting $ we'll do the confirmed list.

Also, no refunds if you cancel after April 8th. However, if you need to cancel after that
you can sell or give away your spot to somebody else.

So there you go. Something to look forward to especially after year.
    I know I do. (seriously)

That'd be great. Also, I think we'll do a recon ride in March if you're interested.
I'll post it up when we decide on a date.

Yes, Nor Cal, Mendocino area. It's at Fuller Grove Campground, in the 3rd paragraph of the first post. Just google Fuller Grove Campground it will come right up. Try to make it, you'll have a great time. Great people, riding and food.

I also posted a map link in the first post so people can see the location.

Those steaks were 1lb ribeyes, frankly, it was a little too much. Almost everybody
went into a meat coma after that.

    Examples of our menu items:
    Chili dogs
    Lobster ravioli with alfredo sauce
    Chicken ravioli with pesto
    Chicken and steak fajitas
    Fresh tortilla chips with guacamole
    Tri-tip
    Pulled pork
    Brisket
Everything cooked on the grill or in the pit smoker.
    Almost everything from scratch.
We used to do pizzas in the smoker and they were great,
but it took too long to feed everybody.

I guess it's too late for Dungeness crab?

j/k, I'm already in a meat coma just from reading that, and that's a good thing!

SanGJan should of clarified a little more.

It should say what kind Sierra Nevada beer do we want.
That's where we'll be getting the kegs from again.
