I got a quick glance at some of the gopro video from Penny Pines and it looks really good. I'm still bummed I didn't get my first crash, but I'll try to get it done this week at some point...

Where do I start? Thanks to all for such an incredible weekend. The food, the riding, and most of all the people - couldn't ask for more. Special thanks to Dean, Mario, Chris, Nicki, and Janet for all the hard work. And Matt for the great, never-ending supply of beer. Once again I was having too good of a time to take many photos, but here are a few.

Thanks of course to the hosts and those who gave so much time and effort i making this all possible ... but ...

I need to specially thank my new hero CRW!!!
This guy picked up a lost duffle bad on the road out, saw me an the captain under the bridge thinking about swimming, drove down, and asked if we lost a bag. "No we're good... oh wait ... I did lose a bag.

    Thank you CRW !!!

Did somebody forget some rather expensive camp chairs?

If you did, I have them. Just shoot me a description of them
and we'll figure some way of getting them back to you.

Oh, and I'm glad everybody had a good time. Hearing that
makes the work so much easier.

Also I'd like to thank Janet for keeping the $ straight. Mario for
the pig and his cooking skills. Matt for getting us such a killer deal
on beer. (no wheat beer next year, sorry) Chris for watching
the smoker so I could punish myself riding up Hull Mtn.
And everybody else who helped to keep things moving along.

My less traveled route home turned me around here as this log was a bit to large for my Dakar. major reroute with gas over 60 miles back, all dirt. Lovely.

    good times for sure.

THANKS Dean, Janet, Mario, Nikki, Chris, Matt, Claire, & everyone for making this a very COOL Rally! :clap :bow

I believe this was the third year I paid, and I finally showed up! :doh Glad I did. I knew a few folks from
other ADV events, but there were 40+ new faces to learn & names to forget! :eek1

Arrived & setup camp just before the secret Wednesday dinner, shhh! Met & talked to many by the fire.
I was interested in a Covelo lunch ride on Thursday, and it sounded like Matt & Claire were interested
also. 10AM sounded like a civilized ride time. :ricky

View of Lake Pillsbury from Hull Mtn

Matt & Claire headed up M1 towards M61 intersection before I left Hull Mtn. I came up on them later. Claire
was standing to the right of the road & Matt seemed to be in the road behind a crest. I reached the crest
I could see the mud HOLE the 900 Scrambler was buried in. OOPS!!!

I completely forgot I had a camera and proceeded to help with the rescue first. D'OH!!! It was buried to the
frame rails and deeper that the rear axle. Matt tried again to back it up & power+push it thru, but they needed
help. I got out the tow strap and tied it to the front frame, between the forks. I thought about how to pull with
Ms.Beta, but decided to just pull it myself. After a couple of practice tries, we got it out on the 3rd attempt.

    A rescued Scrambler!

Smiles & the innocent-looking mud HOLE from Hell! :eek1

When we got to M61, they decided to follow me to Covelo, so off we headed for FH7 & lunch.

M1 closed down to FH7, but we sneaked by like we owned the place! :augie

It was closed for maintenance of the switchbacks & grade down to FH7. We slowly passed by the grader, a water
    truck, and the roller.

New credit-card gas pumps & convenience store at the casino. Nothing looked good for lunch, until we got the
other end of town. My Cafe had pretty good food and a GREAT Root Beer float! On the way back to M1, I noticed
another headlight coming from behind and up beside me. It was SFMCJohn! We played in the twisties &
    stopped to talked at M1.

We started up M1 while John continued east on FH7.

    FAST part of M1! :ricky

    West of M1 ...

    Springtime on M6!

On Friday, a friend drove up for a day ride of Middle Creek singletrack. I had an older Cowbell Enduro track.

We went up Pine Mtn first to the lookout.

Once we got on the Enduro track, I forgot I had a camera again. Ed had a GoPro though, so I'm hoping to see
    some singletrack video soon! The trails at the north end (40, 43, 36, 23, 24, 25, & 38) were a BLAST! :ricky
The trails closer to Penny Pines were whooped enough that they were not that fun. Some deep whoops had
LARGE mud puddles between them. Ed & I swam in the lake afterwards. It was COLD, :vardy but refreshing! :thumb

Ed's video of chasing me around an old Cowbell Enduro track. Trails 25 & 38 were the best! :ricky

During the cocktail hour, Gerry passed around his back massage/sex toy to the delight of those present!

One of the 40+ names I forgot! :doh

    Janet kinda liked it too!

Maurice & Randall just like to watch! :evil

John's KLR had a secret admirer!!!

Gerry, Jonathon, & I rode the same loop on Saturday that Dean & crew rode on Friday; M1, M6, M61, Co311, M3,
M10, & M1 back to camp. We stopped at Sheetiron Mtn for a break & the views.

    Gerry is looking for ...

    ... this on Sheetiron Mtn!

    Saturday night dinner was SPECIAL!

    Whatcha deep-frying, Dean?

Fresh, HOT tortilla chips to go with a GREAT spicy guac and salsa! :clap

    Mario & the pig!

    Smile for the camera! :rofl

Rumor has it that this was a Colby-beef brisket!

    Smoked to perfection! :clap

    Mario's secret sauce!

We literally PIGGED OUT Saturday night!!! :dg

Adult dessert was watermelon & pineapple slices soaked in rum! I wish I'd got a photo. The pineapple was
excellent. The watermelon was dangerous! :eek1 :freaky

It was cool Saturday night during dinner. Then there were too many folks crowded around the main fire to get
close enough for warmth. Someone mentioned a second fire pit, so I grabbed 3 pieces of wood and went
looking. Sure enough, the 2nd fire pit only had 3 folks around it, and was ready for more wood. So I joined
Paul, Jill, & Eric and a warm evening of stories & libations! :freaky

Sunday most folks headed home. 4 of us were staying Sunday night, so we got the pick of the leftovers to
save for dinner. And a serious PILE of firewood!

I rode out to the west side of the lake and then down to the Pine Mtn area, exploring un-marked dead
ends. There are a lot of them. Came across a few good ones.

Notice the singletrack on the far right. :evil :ricky

Gorgeous meadow on the west side of Pine Mtn.

We had a GREAT fire and plenty of pork leftovers for a FEAST Sunday night! Jonathon also kept us busy
& entertained for most of the evening. I'm sworn to secrecy though, so I can't say WHAT or HOW he did
that. It will probably take MUCH alcohol to get Jonathon to talk though! :lol3 :rofl :freaky

THANKS again Dean & everyone! I'm looking forward to next year! :clap :freaky
