No problems doing this on a Tiger? I have never been in that area (besides riding Stonyford trails) before and I would like to do some exploring on my way to camp Friday morning. Looks like M10 direct to 301/Elk Mtn Road right into camp? Sorry for being a noob. Cheers!

hoping to leave dublin by 1000, stop for gas, water, and a few supplies.

If anyone needs any items transported last minute, let me know.

also, does anyone have actual directions, I can get to upper lake and I know its past the ohv area, but, it would be nice to have royte/roads directions from upper lake.
    Thanks

    Continue on I-580 W. Take US-101 N to CA-20 E in Mendocino County. Take the CA-20 E exit from US-101

Continue on CA-20 E. Take Eastside Potter Valley Rd, Eel River Rd and Elk Mountain Rd

Just pulling this up on GggleMaps at work. Should get you within shotgun range.

    Focal,
Look for the turnoff from 20 about 15 miles past upper lake. The sign says Potter Valley Lake Pilsbury.

Go down that road to the small town of Potter Valley and turn right on Eel River Road. This is at Hoppers corner and there's a small store gas station there. There will be a Lake Pilsbury sign.

At the fork in the road bear right on Cutoff road. Go down across the river and turn right. This will now be dirt.

In 10 miles it will turn paved again at Soda Creek Store. Turn left and follow Simmons Rd down to 18N74. Not sure if that's marked. It's the short road to the group site.

    Focal,

I just assumed you were going Potter Valley way. Are you planning to go Up Elk Mountain Rd?

If going by anything other than a bike I strongly recommend the Potter Valley route. Fewer curves and about the same amount of dirt.

yep, that is the route I took.

I don't think you will have any problems.

You will have to cross rice creek and may get your feet wet!

    have fun,
