Well usually today we'd be talking about what a great time we had
at the rally we just finished.
We're still planning on the September date but before I make reservations
for Fuller Grove I want to be sure the riding areas will be open. When I last
checked the ranger was talking July, I check back with her later this month
and see if they're still on schedule.

Just checked with the ranger station in Upper Lake.
She said maybe early July but it depends how soon
they can make the trails safe. Of course safe is a relative term
    when riding dirt bikes.
This bout of rain probably isn't helping.

I think i'll do a recon ride second weekend in June and see how it looks
up there. Besides I need to do some more test riding of my Husky 701e
that I'm currently adventurizing (not a real word).

    Anyone want to come along?

I'm riding up to the Upper Lake Ranger on Sunday if anybody wants to go.
They're officially on Sunday closed but sometimes somebody is around.
See if we can get some more info.
After that, if they opened M1, then we'll head to Pillsbury. If not open, maybe Tomki Rd.
and up to Willits then down the coast from Fort Bragg.

Taco we're going to meet some riders at 8:30 at Starbucks at the south
end of Cloverdale. Then up to Hopland and over Old Toll Road to Clear Lake.
Probably in Upper Lake around 11:00. Maybe meet at the gas station/store
at the corner of Hwy 20 and Hwy 29.

Just give me a call or text 415 519-3326

This year is not looking promising. How I read the NFS letter that Kevin posted
is that most everything is closed until July of next year. Heck, that'd mess up next year too.

Even if we did just want to ride north of Lake Pillsbury we can't ride in the basin until September 9th.
And the last day you can reserve Fuller Grove is September 8th. It's closed after that.

I'm heading out Saturday for 2 1/2 to 3 weeks doing the CDR from Canada to Mexico but when I
get back I'll check with the forest service again to see if there are any changes.

What I'm thinking for an alternative this year is a two or three day ride maybe up the north coast
and in Mendo NF. Either motel or camp. That way we can still call it the Mendo Rally and not
miss a year. Wouldn't be as cool but better than nothing.
