From Memphis I made my way to Arkansas and the Ozarks. The weather was now very hot and humid. I attended a bike rally in Mountain View called Mountains, music and Motorcycles. A very different event from the Adv rally but also a lot of fun. On Saturday I participated in the poker run with 2 couples on Harleys. It was a pleasure to ride with them and surprisingly they rode fairly fast. I didn't win the poker run but didn't expect to. There was good music and a very family atmosphere. It is in a dry county so no drunks which was fine by me. On Sunday I packed up my tent for the last time as it then became too hot to camp.[/ATTACH]

Even though there was a sign saying turn around your GPS is wrong I rode down the sandy road until I guy in a pick-up pointed out I was an idiot. I stopped in Texarkana and in Canton. Canton was the last if my World Famous places. I spent 2 days at JD's place recovering from the heat. I was also lucky enough to meet his sprightly mother. He is worried about her health but I think she will outlive us all. We then rode together to Saltillo where JD returned to Austin. Both our bikes had slight oil weeps from the final drives. I bought an oil seal yesterday for about 2 dlls and will have a look at it today. I think JDs BMW will cost a little more to fix. I spent 2 nights in Aguascalientes with my brother in law.

I spent a night in Celaya with my old friend Lorenita and her husband. We hadn't seen each other in over 20 years but nothing had changed. I then spent 2 nights in Queretaro with my nephew. He recently bought a Super Tenere and we changed the engine and shaft drive oil put in new plugs and airfilter. I then meet 2 friends about 1.5 hours from Mexico and rode into the city wirh them . The trip was over. I had a great time. The Great Lakes are truly Great. The bike had performed well apart from the misfire which was cured with the new coil. Riding with Ivonne was the highlight of the trip. My trusty bike now has over 110,000 kms and did 21,841 kms on this trip. I have enjoyed writing this little report. If anyone wants to put a comment please feel free. Anyone that wants info on Mexico, The Great Lakes or the fabulous Yamaha Super Tenere just ask IMG_20190901_165144.jpg IMG_20190901_164829.jpg
