I've been thinkingabout this for a while and am starting to pull a plan together .I think a group of 6-8 would be a nice managable # .My brother and I are trying to make it happen .would like to spend one nite in Frederiksburg texas along the way.Might meet in memphis and leave from there.I might trailer to memphis .have a friend and a brother there so can leave trailer there.

I've been playing with the idea as well. The local dealership was coordinating a trip that I was jonesing over that would work for a street bike.

Same thing, or something different :ear

I saw the Mortons trip too .I think I might enjoy a non canned trip better though .And the $3k total cost seemed a little steep.Seemed like we could do it a lot cheaper and have a little more freedom .and you have to get to the border on your own or ship the bike thru them prolly pricey for that too.

Depending on the WX I was thinking of either riding or trailering close to McAllen and go from there with them.

Where are you thinking about crossing?

Of course, I was wondering. Is that $3K per person, or per bike?

I want to see the mountains and the interior old world cities .I also thought I'd try to catch up with the tour group from Mortons bmw a couple of nights .but that is not a necessity . If we get a decent group of ADV'ers together I think it would be a blast. And Jay the Don Julio is a given :1drink .Do you speak good spanish ?I had it in school but can't speak it well prolly could get by though.

Sticking to pavement Prolly take the k12r unless I can get the r11r checked out to make the trip without having to worry about it . No Issues with the rr but seems smater to take the newer bike ,Although taking the rr would prolly be ok ,not as much to worry about $ wise.

I sure would love to be a part of this trip, but obligations and my horrible knack for quiting early will keep me away. Have loads of fun and, obviously, take lots of pictures. :deal :D
