Not a bad idea at all....fact...you'll likely need it. Your going to be riding mostly 4500' asl most of the time. Central Highlands is all high plateau country...with mountains to get higher. The higher you go, the colder it'll get. I always take a heated jacket in my left bag ever since I froze to death once when it wasn't supposed to get under 60.... Expect the unexpected, my mantra for riding South of the Border btw.

Heard from dirty and bluey don't look like they are goin.

All you need is your b certificate or passport, title or letter stating lein holder has no objections to go to mexico on their bike.

Mexican bike insurance is about $125 and $125 for medjet assist.

Prolly $60 in fees at the border max.

I would really like to be going with you guys but there is no way I can go before the middle of May. If your trip gets postponed til then I could go but you have to go on your schedule. Sounds like a blast. I have ridden there a couple times and can't wait to get back.

I'm crossing into Mexico in early March on a Rosen's Ride. They've given us some companies to contact re: insurance, but I wonder if there are others?

We were given: San Xavier (website doesn't work) and Adventure Mexican...www.mexadventure.com.

They came back at $102 for 11 days in Chihuahua and Sonora for my KLR.

    What do you folks know?

If you check the rules I beleive if your coming in on land the b certificate is all that is required until jan 1 08. if flying or boat you need passport.

Reportedly postponed for folks driving across the border. It seems that too many gringos don't know how to apply for a passport :lol3
