You can now take care of the import paperwork on line and, supposedly, have everything mailed to you. The following page is in English. http://www.banjercito.com.mx/site/tramiteitv_ing.jsp
On the right side, click on "Realize su tramite aqui." You'll then be taken through the process. This is a new service that I haven't tried yet. Good luck. Dan

5.2 The temporary import Permit will only be delivered to the "Importer" through the mail service at the address defined by the "Importer" and to conclude the delivery process, the "Importer" must show the credit or debit card used for the payment of the Permit and show an official ID with his picture and signature (Passport, Resident Alien or Certificate of Naturalization).
.........It will be interesting to see if this actually happens. I don't know how this would be controlled, and having verification responsibility passed to a 3rd party, the delivery service.

Proper documents, when using this Internet service, are now the responsibility of the 'importer', not a border official.

I used the on-line registration for vehicle permit, and other than an occasional failure on their part to fully translate to english, it's not difficult...The permit will be delivered by Fedex, with no signature required

Has a lot of similarity to a route that I am working on. Care to share a map of it?
