I had contacted @SoPaRider over the winter as I was heading through Michaux SF as part of the MABDR, and not to mention Michaux is about 3 hours from me, which is as close as going to to the GWNF for our "local riding". SoPaRider had posted in another thread about his turn by turn PDF file, which he sent to me, and I created a GPX of it using BaseCamp and OSM maps. I sent it back to him for review, made the recommended corrections, and created V2. I asked him about sharing this up and he gave me the thumbs up :thumb

If you have feedback please feel free to post here or PM me, corrections or otherwise.

I loaded it on both my iphone using Pocket Earth (only does tracks, no routes), and my Garmin 660 with no issues. I used my phone for my last trip.

This looks awesome, thanks for sharing!

My GPS phone app (OSMand) says this will be a ten hour ride. I feel like that's an overstatement.

How long do you think this track would take?

You know to be honest I don’t know. I got permission from a local to put this together based on his PDF routes, and used it for some alts when I went through on my MABDR trip last spring. I wouldn’t think it would take 10 hours though ::no no no::

Very cool. I'm heading up to Michaux for some motocamping with 2 buddies in a few weeks. Unfortunately one of us will be on a big ole street machine, so we'll be sticking to pavement. Perhaps my Enfield and my buddy's KLR can take a few detours and get dirty, but don't want to leave anyone behind.

When you going? Veterans day weekend I am thinking about some motocamping somewhere... though I may head south, MSF could be another option.

We're planning on Saturday the tenth but a lot of it is up in the air still. It'll be mine and the other guys' first motocamping trip... Done a bunch of backpacking before though so shouldn't be a problem.

I started a thread in the NE and SE regional forums for recommendations on route up from Baltimore. I've got some good input, I just need to get the time to compile it all together.

Ideally we're looking for a campsite where we can park our bikes nearby, but we don't want to be in a treeless lawn of an RV park. Drive-in primitive sites are cool but I haven't found any that are secluded/shaded/somewhat away from things.

You guys on here have any recommendations in the area?
