Sometimes I think true luxury these days is to be places where there's no people or the ability of masses of people getting to places. The USA/Canada are massive pieces of earth and there are still such places left. ;)

Thanks so much man! I hope all my BS talk is not too much :lol3:thumb

Next stop El Chalten. Many people told us this place is just incredible to see. We could not in our wildest dreams imagine the beauty of the landscapes in this part of Patagonia.

    LonelyPlanet:
"This colorful village overlooks the stunning northern sector of Parque Nacional Los Glaciares. Every summer thousands of trekkers explore the world-class trails that start right here. Founded in 1985, in a rush to beat Chile to the land claim, El Chaltén is still a frontier town, albeit an offbeat one, featuring constant construction, hippie values and packs of roaming dogs.

El Chaltén is named for Cerro Fitz Roy’s Tehuelche name, meaning ‘peak of fire’ or ‘smoking mountain’ – an apt description of the cloud-enshrouded summit. Perito Moreno and Carlos Moyano later named it after the Beagle’s Captain FitzRoy, who navigated Darwin’s expedition up the Río Santa Cruz in 1834, coming within 50km of the cordillera."

We slowed down and took our time the last 80km to the small village. Truly for us not being used to dramatic snowcapped mountains like people in EU and other parts of the world. This was something we wanted to burn into the brain. Views I never want to forget in my life.

Even to those of us who live in places near lots of snow-capped mountains, that looks absolutely spectacular.

    And yet still not enough.

Of all the places that I see in these reports, that area is the one that stirs the most yearning.

El Chalten turned into a bit of a touristy town. But still, with that it ain't such a bad place. There's a load of nice bars and restaurants around to hangout
if hiking and exploring aren't your things. We actually fucked our time planning up a bit. We though the winter will hit Patagonia quicker than we thought.
We only wanted to stay for 2-3 days and had to move again.
We took the two days to ride around the area instead of going to hike. The idea was to rather get a quick overview than one hike up to the mountain.
Which in the end turned out to be a good decision. And it will be a good thing to get back there in the future.

We met with a local lady at the cabanas we stayed in. She told us she had been going to El Chalten for 25 years every year. She said the chance that we had such good clear open air was unusual and we can thank the gods that. Normally the place is overcast, rainy and not often the peaks are open. Well, if true or not we were seriously happy the few days were clear days.

It is such a bloody nice place to ride around. All around us, there's peaks and snow-capped mountains. The app PeakFinder was a good help to at least get some names for all the awesomeness.

Those white peaks are just freaky standing from the surrounding peaks.

Sunrise with the sun on the peaks. I took a serious of photos here and everyone is differently beautiful.

Not sure why the bloody photos look so over contrast, maybe it's my laptop or maybe I made a fuckup when editing them. Will have to do this over:cob:photog

In Sucre Bolivia, and the flippen gov decided to hit us with another hard lockdown since Monday.... 15weeks now..uuurghh :muutt:photog

It is getting to winter but strange enough in Sucre it is between 20-25c every day and right in the Goldilocks nice temp range. I am sure the heavy cold is going to hit us at any time. There has already been parts with snow.

We want to get back to Uyuni when eventually it opens, which will most probably be right smack in the middle of winter.
