Okay, sorry for the delay. It has been quite a busy two months since leaving Guadalajara. And also had to get our Cuba story out. So to start with the Cuba one first go have a look at our photo essay http://www.pikipiki.co.za/cuba-old-school-hip/ And I posted this two day before Fidel decided to move to the other asshole dicators in where ever the hell it is they go to.

The artist in Cuba are incredibly talented. The they love paintings and music and will start playing in squares or just start to sing and party where ever there is music.

Fidel has done a great job dragging the country back to the '20 The people even think they are well off due to the propaganda and constant bad news from the West their TV and radio stations play everyday.

Cubans love the USA! They thrive on any trend and stuff coming the USA. They dress like the Kardashians and rappers, they wear fake gold stuff and proudly display the USA and Cuban flag in their cabbies.

Life is still easy going. Everybody earns equally fuck all. Except like most countries where dictators run there are a small group of rent seekers capturing the state and ripping every cent they can get. It is great to see kids still play on the street at night and not glued to Ipads and TV screens. But the draw back is they just do not have the education and information the Western kids have and we got the feeling that they are way behind on technology, science and everything else in the world.

Damn Michnus, outstanding photos as usual. Seriously, I can't believe how great your shots are sometimes. So who's behind the camera most of the time, or is it pretty equal?

I know who drinks the beer. :lol3

Thanks so much Mike, I really appreciate it.

It is more of the hold my beer and watch this type of photography :lol3

I try very hard now to improve with this photography thing. I know our minds are going to bugger off when we are old and at least then want decent photos to look at. :D

    Last few photos of Cuba.
I see many reports of old friends of Fidel Castro, even our own ANC government making him an hero. When looking at the country I wonder how he stood up everyday and said to himself..."self, well done, just look at how great this nation of Cuba and it is all thanks to me" There must be a special kind of hell for assholes like him.

There are no choice, you stay where you can. We got different stories from people. And we figured people are not honest about it and most propably do not want to tell the West what is really going on. One person tells us they all receive a grand and housing is all free or they pay a small amount for it. So people scramble for the best they can get. But then we get other stories thats not backing up this claim.... so who knows, fact is they are all equally poor.

One guy boosted how they receive free medicines. What's wrong with you I asked? He replied he has Diabetes and since there is no medicine the Doctor told him to regulate his diabetes with food. So ye, medicines are free when you can get them, which is about never.

Same with education and schooling, it is for sure not on current standards.

After Guadalajara we make a run for Colima. As we have never seen a volcano and one that is erupting we had to go see. We were lucky to find a hotel but as luck would have it, it was overcast for 3 days. On the 4th we decided to leave and on our way out got to see a part of the volcano.

There is a small road meandering up the volcano. We scouted it the first day to see how far up we can get, but it was not very successful. There is an entrance for scientist and it was locked.

To see ashes and rocks going up into the air and then crashing down the side of this volcano was mind blowing stuff...for us anyway. One really feels like an ant when mother nature shows heartburn :D

Just gotta love the small town vibe in Mexico. Quiet, warm evenings with noises and music coming from old cantinas. It is such a nice time to take a stroll through town and the plaza or square.
