I am craving a root beer float.
Planning on a 70 Mile scooter ride (the Burgman 650) today to go get the float. :rofl
I will take the back roads to get there while the girls will take the highway and meet me there.
I just sent the 'turn by turn' Google Maps directions to my phone. This way no distracting GPS to look at as there are quite a few deer roaming around. Yeah hunting season soon!

There's one down in Dexter as well. Nice back road options between Lansing and Dexter.

If I was retired, I would ride to the closest EPL and get me some 'shiken' today. But Wife wants me to continue working.

Feeling sick from grief- - a good friend from Med School passed away yesterday. We lived about 10 Miles from each other, talked once in a while but rarely saw each other.

Keep you friends close. Don't wait till Christmas or such to be nice.

Yes you have brother, you are right too.

I'm still sulking around the house because we're probably not going to be able to take vacation in September since it's the start of the school year. It just means I'll have to sneak in little trips here and there to see my friends whenever possible.

Also, if anyone from the southwest will be travelling towards lake superior and passing through Wyoming let me know and we can put you up for the night if you'll be passing though our way. If not then I'll hope on the bike and come meet you wherever you pass through and grab a bite.

Took the Himma for a late afternoon ride around the lake, stopping at the usual spot at North Higgins Lake State Park for pics.
Discovered something that I hadn't picked up when I took the short test ride of the Himma . . . . my large feet don't mesh well with the right side footpeg-brake lever arrangement. I tend to ride with the middle of my boot sole on the peg. More than once, upon acceleration, I felt the bike straining to get up an gentle incline and also on normal acceleration running up through the gears. A couple of times it was severe enough that I thought that something was mechanically wrong with the bike.

NOPE . . . . just my foot resting in it's normal position that oh by the way was also resting on the brake lever :doh
Eventually I got to where I was consciously placing the ball of my foot on the peg and keeping the toe off of the brake lever. The acceleration was much better then :-)

I'll have to check and see what, if any, adjustments can be made to the brake lever. Maybe lowering it would take it out of the space where my boot toe rests when my foot is in my "normal" position on the peg. If not, I'll just have to learn to have my foot rearward on the peg.

The new bike is looking good, I'm glad you are getting out there and putting some miles on it.

You can remove the pin from the clevis and shorter the rod going into the master cylinder. This will in turn lower the brake pedal. It's simple to do and won't take long at all.
