We should organise something, I'm keen around mid January
So, with Christmas and fires behind us, any MNC riders up for a day trip in the hills?
Just looked at this post today and wondered if it had any life.
I'm up for something. Weekend is out, tractor repairs.
I'm clear all this coming week except late Tuesday afternoon, and Wednesday morning 0900-1200. Next week is pretty clear.
I should know my week by Tuesday After some phone calls
Watching with interest
Hay locals, after a bit of info, in the planning phase of a ride for later in the year, ( bat flu dependant) gloucester to dorrigo, then towards casino got the first bit sorted, look for a good run from oxley hwy to bellbrooke and dorrigo, any suggestions ???
Give me a couple of days and I will dig out some gpx files from the Oxley at Enfield road to Bellbrook.
Went oxley onto fenwicks rd , cobcroft trail , mooraback onto racecourse trail which runs into coachwood road. Onto carrai road left onto fifes creek rd then ball rd to mckenzies creek rd onto toose rd into bellbrook. did last sunday on 701, easy if not wet, was quite slippery around coachwood rd area and there is a bridge bypass on mooraback road which isn't hard if not wet. Took 3 hrs from bellbrook to fenwicks oxley intersection with slow going for 50ks of slippery bits due to recent rain. What size bike are you riding? If wet could be a handful on bike bigger than 180 kg's depending on ability & tyre selection Hope that helps
You've saved me rummaging around my files, Ollie! Will be looking to do this run on the T7 when the next shutdown is complete in late November.
If the planets line up i might join you
Ill look them up
we are planning for early November as the snowy ride is cancelled and we are all off and ready go, hav a few different bikes and rider abilities on the group F800's,Africa twin's a 1150 and 1200GSA's and some orange things...
Hi Lads bit of planning changes (as usual ) anybody got any recommendations, going from Taylors Arm to Dorrigo ???
I did oxley Hwy to Wiilawarrin over Mt Boss a few weeks ago, had to cut a few trees off but got through ok.
How about a run up to Killiekrankie then down to Thora? I have a gpx somewhere. If you are brave then do Kilprotay.
With the amount of rain we have had in this area the last week Kilprotay would be only for the very brave and extremely talented.
I did say brave!
we are just planning to miss after your advice and a scan of Terrain maps!!!
thanks for the advice,
What is Horseshoe rd like all the way through from North Arm in the south up over killakrankie on to Water fall in the north ????
Normally not too bad but lots of heavy rain last couple of weeks, even now as I type this, will make some sections very slick as a lot of red clay that never sees the sky. Would really depend on what you are riding and your skill levels.
If you have rimlocks drop your tyre pressures and you should be ok. A delicate throttle hand helps, too.
