Carrizo got almost 2 inches last Tuesday.. but I'm guessing Soda Lake is rideable, but muddy in spots.

I got shanghaied for some early morning duty, and it looks like I can't make Cuyama way until closer to 11:00 if that still works. If not, I'll try to slab-it up to Santa Margarita and hook up at Pozo!

    No shit!

Mornin' gents. Well it looks like we're falling apart a little.

Walt, sounds like you can get away by 10? Yes? I could meet you at Main and 101 at ten and we could wonder towards Pozo.

Rodger you could meet us somewhere in between.

I dont care where i ride today, just want to ride !

Pozo for lunch if all else fails

welllll.. I am going to Cuyama anyway, as it turns out. Another bud is riding from Santa Maria to Thousand Oaks via 33, and I told him I was heading out that way and would ride as far as Cuyama. Plus, leaving Santa Maria at 10:00 for Pozo would put us there around 11.. they won't start lunch til noon or after. Could we still hook up at the 76 station at Soda Lake Rd at 11? Then either across or through taft to 58?

Done, I'll be there. Soda Lake and Hwy 166 at 11AM. I've never been up through the piece of 33 to 58 so it'll be something new. Don't know Shell Creek either. Rodger?

Shell Creek & 58 is less than 30 minutes from home. If you guys are coming from Soda Lake Road, I could meet you on 58 by Pozo Road. We could take Pozo Road to Pozo (duh) or take it back to 58 & on to Creston, 229 (fun), Huer Huero Road (funx2) to Pozo.

Solid. Shell Creek goes due south of Shandon and ties in at 58. We should pass there around 12:15-12:30 at the latest, with a quick gas stop.
Gerg.. that should put us into Pozo around 1:00 for lunch. Maybe by that time you'll feel better?

58 over the hill is one of my FAVORITES! :thumb
I'm playing it by ear right now. Feeling pretty good right now. If you see the monster cow, it'll be me. If not :dunno

    Have a great ride!

One more thing, there is gas in Maracopa. Much cheaper than Cuyama. A Shell (I believe) at the intersection of 166 and 33. If you wait until Taft you have to go off of 33 and into town. There are no stations on 33.

No gas bwtn Cuyama & Paso Robles! You should have enough to get to Santa Margaita if that's in your plans. I'll be out on 58 somewhere bwtn Shell Creek & Pozo Road ~12ish. Ride safe!

Yep.. agreed. Great day of riding (even you guys DID have to wait up for me a couple of times. Slowing down in my old age I guess, but thanks just the same!)

That section of SLO county is just outrageously beautiful and fun on a bike. Next hook up, lunch will be on MY ticket though. Somehow you guys bought behind my back while I was :1drink

Dave and I pulled off 101 at Arroyo Grande and went out Hwy 1 for a ways. I pulled into Santa Maria around 4, but Cabesa had another hour to go. He was headed out 135 toward Los Alamos last I saw him!
