Found my way into Ouray Co. A must on the list of trip places. I made it to the western hotel in town, a very old historic hotel with floor bathrooms, leaning walls, and lead paint I suspect.

Day 13 - Explore trails and area outside Ouray. Decided to stay a day in he area and spend some time riding without luggage. Nice areas and want to explore. Set out to head over a few passes towards Telluride.

Almost instantly off on a rocky trail front pinch flat 3 within 5 days. At this time I was running 25 psi up front on Kenda k270 tire. I just can't trust these tires at this point and they are folding on tubes at seemingly the smallest rocks. No gear or luggage on bike and maybe a 1/2 compression of front forks resulting in pinch! Not happy with these tires.

Enjoying your report. I noticed that the weather at the northern border was getting a little iffy. Seems early, but I don't know. Are you on the CDR now?

Day 14 - Silverton, Durango, Pagosa to Santa Fe. After the third flat I just couldn’t trust the kenda k270 on dirt trails or roads any longer. Being two weeks solo on a ktm I called it and headed back to Santa Fe. Time to think out the next trip and set things up better from the lessons learned.

In total I pushed over 2,200 miles in 15 days solo on a ktm 500. Its definitely harder than anticipated, and living off of a small bike is not an easy task. Im rethinking the bike setup, looking at different front tires, luggage options, and camping gear. There are a few musts have that makes things easier and more comfortable that need to start off in the bag and other things that seem practical but just aren't needed. Ive learned a thing or two and reinforced prior knowledge as well. Looking at heading south for nmbdr possibly in the next month...
