He emailed me me back quickly with his phone number, he explained that the bike was bought after a crash and he just had other projects. That there was no major items but the headlight was broken up, the fender, and the radiator had been repaired (this part is NLA from KTM). We talked and agreed that he would take the bike to Zambon's for a purchase inspection after sledding this past weekend since I wanted a third party to start it and run it through the gears and a place for the shipper to pick it up.

He called me on monday and said he was dropping it off at Zambons on tuesday if I was still interested. We talked and then I called him to back out of the deal, like him, I already have projects collecting dust, it was tough since the SE is a bike I have always wanted.

Disclaimer: I agree that the bike seems low priced and anyone should ensure the deal meets the buyers expectation. Condition, paperwork, history should all be checked and if something seems odd, never be afraid to bail with your cash. I have never met the seller and have no vested interest in this sale, it just seemed like a possible bargain for another inmate.

    Cheers, Chris

Of course it's a scam. I've seen basically the same one before on off road KTM's.
I even amused myself for whole day emailing back and forth with the scammer. She had multiple excuses why the bike couldn't be seen at that time.

Plus the price is just to good to be true.

Seems like a fair price for a used four stroke KTM.

Indeed. $1500-$2100 price, single photo, out of state number or gmail address on the photo= scam.

They have been doing these for a while on 12V Cummins, and have branched out to bikes, cars, tractors, you name it. The photo is usually stolen from eBay or Cardomain- this one is from Ebay where it sold for $6700 There is also a similar scam in FB groups now, so stay on your toes.
