This year Mike and I threw planning out the window and just packed the bikes and met in St. Louis. From there we headed Southwest-ish, then Northwest-ish, then North-ish, then back Southeast-ish.

My last day was a big push- after exiting the Tetons I had already seen all of the Midwest I cared to see- so I B-lined back to GA. 1900+ miles with a short 3 hour nap in Kansas…

Hey buddy, didn't know you posted this!!! I was just about to start one with the same title!!!! :lol3 I'll add some of my pictures (375 to choose from)... Thanks again, to you for being a great friend and riding partner, and thanks to the inmates that helped us along the way!!! Can't wait for our next ride... I'm thinking New England states or the T. A. T.!!!! Maybe this fall or next spring!!!
Unfortunately, I didn't start taking pictures until we got to Cottonwood Pass in Colorado. I started on May 28th, leaving right from work in Upper Michigan, heading to Green Bay, WI to stay with my nephew and get a jump on my ride to St. Louis were Hookapelli and I met on the 29th. We stayed with a fellow inmate in St. Louis, who was an amazing fellow and host!!! We then headed to an old friend of mine near the Nebraska/Colorado boarder. My buddy took such good care of us, we stay the whole day on the 30th, deciding instead to depart on the 31st. We meet a couple more friends of mine near Denver for lunch, before continuing on up through Cottonwood Pass, which is where I started taking pictures.

And here she is!!! My first time here!!! Not too shabby, I'd say. Might want to put this on your bucket list if you haven't already!!!
I'd like to step up on a soapbox for a moment... it astounds me that any time people find something beautiful in nature, the government finds it necessary to put up a booth and charge admission...:dirtdog Rant over...

The Saddle Sore Saloon on Hwy 155 in Glennville, CA, we both really liked this place and the ridding that day was awesome!!! SO TWISTY!!! All day!!! They host motorcycle gatherings, very cool place with a friendly and I must say, attractive staff...
    PXL_20210604_202210378 (Medium).jpg
I was absolutely shocked to see so much fire damage... Really impacted me more than I imagined it would but until you actually see it, it's difficult to comprehend the sheer magnitude of it all. Not to mention, this is just what we saw along our route, so really like looking through a keyhole of a castle. I found it hard to not be mad about the fires caused by human... "error". My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to all those who were effected by these disasters!!!

Thankfully, there are still some beautiful areas that were unharmed by the fires!!!

I had never been to any of the redwood forests, I had never traveled north of San Francisco, until this day. OMG!!! I come from a very wooded area... so I thought. I really hadn't imagined just how dramatic these forests are and how drastically different they are from the other forests I have been to and lived in. Again, if you haven't been... GO!!! Take your time and enjoy what really seems almost make-believe... It's... well... magical. I told my buddy, "I wouldn't be surprised to see a dragon or bigfoot ridding a unicorn" Of course, I was being silly but not really that far from the truth.
