Mike Komer is usually pretty reticent to talk about his life and accomplishments in trials, but finally put it down on paper......

Mikes always been a great guy. I have seen the Tryals shop van with the fiberglass traiier at many Nationals through the years. I never had heard his start in trial though, pretty fun stuff.

Ps Funny thing is I had already retired from trials before Mike had even started.

This was a great read! Getting into the sport / life late and it is all appreciated. Older podcasts and historical ones have lead me to stories like this. Fantastic.

Now I get to learn from Mike as well. It is pretty damn cool. I can only hope to help people like he has.

I met Mike three years ago. I’ve been up to his place to train with him 4 times and bought my Beta from him. Going up to his place is such a cool experience , what a great guy and the wife and son are such good folks. Go to his shop- train with Mike, you finish and go back to the shop and the wife brings out snacks and you sit and BS with Mike until it’s time to get on the road. Just amazing times going up there.

Mike is a great guy! I live over in Vermont, but my daughter settled close to the Tryals Shop, and she announced that my grandson will be on an OSET in the next year. With that in mind, I bought my Beta EVO 4T 300 from Mike this Summer after a 12 year hiatus from trials, and have ridden at his place a few times with my grandson bombing around on his balance bike. Mike is so laid back, but attentive at the same time... really the perfect balance in my mind. I am looking forward to doing some training with him next Summer to get some of my lost skills back!
