From email exchange w/ MotoUnion re: BMW service/dealership : "Yes, it will happen eventually here – when that date actually occurs I’m not quite sure as BMW is very particular and dragging their feet. I was supposed to be set up Jan 1 2021, but that obviously hasn’t happened."

I just heard Sportland2 in Oak Creek (Milwaukee Co) WI has been sold. Their MC brands are Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki. Anyone have any added info?

It’s going to become part of the Action/Cedar Creek/Fuel trifecta.

I see the new Buell website has Action shown as a dealer. That could be interesting.

Mischler’s closing really sucks. It’s a paradox living in some of the best ADV country in the midwest but having to go 4 hours to get work done. I have really come to love my F800GS. OTOH, There are Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki shops in abundance around here. Might have to reconsider brand loyalty in the future.

Sucks about Mischler's. They sponsored a friend of mine when we were 13 or so, back around 1977. He paid for a stock RM80 and got a serious race bike built for him. That thing went from 4 hp to... I don't know... a lot more than that in about 500 rpm. It was scary as hell to ride, and almost uncontrollable. Bill seemed to ride it easily though.

“Spoke to Moto Union last week. They said they hope to be up and running with BMW March 1st.“

I drove past the Moto Union location yesterday and there was no evidence of it holding a BMW dealership.

I think the Yamaha dealer in Mukwonago remains open and in business.

As for Sportland 2 in Oak Creek, I’m not surprised they were sold. They were thinly capitalized to begin with, and were hit with multi-unit motorcycle thefts several times in the past couple of years. I hope the Action/Cedarcreek organization can revitalize the shop adn perhaps expand it.

Okay, so I guess I am out of the loop. Schlossmann closing was bad enough, but I had no idea Mischler's closed shop. I had my S1000XR serviced there in September before I sold it. Mischler's showroom was empty for an entire year while Motorworks seemed to have plenty of BMW inventory. You can't sell anything if you don't have anything to sell. Is Kevin from Schlossman's over at Action now? I thought I recognized his voice on a VM recently. My brand loyalty is quickly changing. Currently looking at a VStrom since dealers won't let you test drive KTMs.

Englehart right down the street doesn't have many new motorcycles on the showroom floor. It is still packed with snowmobiles and UTVs. UTVs, Slingshots, Groms, and lawn mowers will continue to take up Englehart's showroom floor. UTV's, Slingshots, and Can-Ams are selling too well at $30,000 a pop. I don't see Englehart picking up BMW.

Last time I saw Kevin he was still at Action, which was Fall of 2020. I really hated to see Schlossman's go. I'll bet Kevin could get you a demo KTM to ride if you asked him. But maybe not. I didn't know they were that strict on test rides. Although it's hard to go wrong with the Yamaha.

On Moto Union - Ross is gone (by choice) and replaced by a gentleman I do not know. I hear he comes from a HD background. BMW is apparently on deck for them, but I'm not sure if it's formal yet.

When I lived in the far north, 2 hrs south to Nick's didn't seem like such a big deal. Somehow 2 hrs north to Tytler's seems farther after having Mischler's close by.
I guess I'll be making the trip for this fuel pump recall.

I liked Nick’s with Jim and his son, but it looks like he passed it on well, and it’s nice to see the big expansion, and additional brands at the Tytler shop.
