Hey Misery Goat, I went to advrider to look for the Nicolas Holzem thread this morning and it is kind of hard to find here in the Regional Latin America section. Catherine, Nicolas' sister is flying to La Paz, Bolivia to search for him in a couple days (August 8th) and I think she will need all the help she can get from Advrider members over the next week or two. Can you please start a thread in the Epic Ride Reports section and lock it there, since that section gets way more traffic than the Regional section? Thank you, Geoff
I found the main immigration office phone number in La Paz, Bolivia... Fono: 011 (591-2) 2110960 from the USA. I just called that number with no avail, I'll try again tomorrow morning since i suspect they may be closed at this time (7:40pm local time). My hope is to secure the phone number for the Tilali Inmmigrayion office. Then we can ask them if he made the crossing into Bolivia or not. I'll keep you posted. I'm Bolivian living in Arkansas, USA.
Forgot that tomorrow, August 6th is a holiday for Bolivia and most government offices will be closed. I also got a couple of friends looking for information that could provide some leads.... I'll keep you posted.
They've already confirmed that he crossed at Tilali on June 16. This thread at the HUBB seems to be the most active: https://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hubb/south-america/help-locate-missing-biker-his-99089
Copacabana might be a good place to start. It's a nice little town to chill in. The sister should pick up some altitude pills if she's not accustomed to high elevations. Flying to La Paz could be problematic. If you follow the link I posted you'll see all the info is posted on the main page of the site.
Yes Looking for info from anyone who has overnighted in Santa Cruz, Bolivia https://m.facebook.com/NicInBolivia/
[FROM HUBB today Hi guys, I'm on my way back home. I've been able to trace Nicolas all the way through mid-September. I now believe he's alright and just needs some time off the grid. I've got no proofs - we still haven't been able to get hold of his credit card data - but I'm confident enough to be able to resume my life. I don't think he knows we're looking for him. If you come across him, please say hi and ask him to write to his daughter. I'm not sure I've managed to completely convince her that her dad is alright. Turns out he was trying to sell his moto a few months back, probably the first clues he was looking to get lostm Glad he's assumed ok, but sure makes things difficult for a lot of people
