Great ride this weekend with Brad, Mike, and Chris.
Is that Spruce Tree? How was it?
Another awesome ride with the Missoula Maladjusted crew. That’s for getting it organized James.
thanks for putting together the tracks and invite us, what a workout my head is still buzz'n.
that was Spruce Tree and it was a very nice CG.
we got a spot on the river.
If anyone is up for a Magruder ride, let me know. I want to get that in before I have to figure out how a snow bike works and how to avoid dying in an avalanche.
I'd be up for that.
A one-nighter is easier for me schedule-wise but if we're using the using the Motorway to return, two nights is better.
Did you bring the KTM back to life?
Battery was toast and I got a new one, no joy.
No continuity on the negative cable but have not yet found where it goes bad.
Girlfriend wanted to go riding yesterday so most of the day went to that.
Nice ride guys.
I'm interested. It looks like there are a few camping options in the area. If you guys can wait until the latter part of September or early October, I'm in.
You do realize it’s about 99% possible that Salmon mountain and the passes on the Magruder could be snowed in mid Sept or October. I personally wouldn’t think of running it any later than mid to late Sept.
I guess you could always turn around if on The Montana side , or slab it back from the Idaho side.
If I go, it will be Sept 14/15. I’d like to go this coming weekend but I’ve already committed to other things.
I really don’t want to get wrapped up in the winter weather up at the higher elevations which I expect could hit any day now.
The weatherguessers say Salmon Mountain could be getting snow this weekend, and that we might be entering a cooler, wetter pattern. This weekend might be the last time bikes can get through.
Any trip through there, I'd be taking a hard look at weather. I would not want to get caught back in there. It's a long walk out.
In the interest of not getting caught in the rain on the Himalayan again, I have opted to postpone magrueder.
Instead I have plotted a course up to Burnt Fork Lake. I've been wanting to get up there and do some fishing for awhile.
Saturday September 7th
Leave BJ's in Hamilton at 9am. I'll be there around 8am for breakfast.
End at Long Riders BBQ in Stevensville sometime in the afternoon.
The ride should be about 3-4 hours depending on the fishing and other stops along the way.

If there's gonna be any dirty bikers here with no fish to eat, I want to make sure I'm prepared.....
There will be at least 1 dirty biker. I'll be riding Saturday. See updated post above
Mike, there is a gate on the road to Burnt Fork Lake. I’ve been there twice and it was locked both times. You will have a 1.7 mile hike in.
