I managed to squeeze a hundred miles or so on the Nifty-Shifty today ...

Still lots of snow up in the Bob.

Good heated grips and vests to ya!

Yes, new addition. Still have the Royal Enfield and the Honda CRF250L.

There's still room for a few more in the garage.

Nothing too exciting. I went up Roaring Lion Rd to the turn around. Had the exhaust come apart on the way in playing in the mud puddles.

You should have taken that Yamahammer up there and got it broken in!
Oh, I scored a set of the Dakar pants like yours from Revzilla a few months ago. $120
The new pants are a lot thinner than my old Dakar pants.

Had to go into Biggertown to get some things that are unobtanium in my nice Smallertown (the Nifty-Shifty makes a pretty good grocery-getter with all the luggage on 'er) ... the pass had a few pucker zones with gravel in the corners and ice in the shadows:

    pass.jpg

Decided to make a loop of it and take the scenic route back via Holter Lake and Wolf Creek:

Always like the view of the front range on Hwy 200 headed west up to Rogers Pass:

Still have another day to get out before the next winter blast comes in ... I think I'll stretch the legs on the venerable XR250R and see how the snow melt is proceeding up higher in my back yard ...

Good incredible lightness of motion that is the motorcycle to ya!

Not sure if Southside Road is free of snow and ice but Saturday I think I will find out.
Blue Mtn - Big Flat Road - Southside Rd to near Alberton Petty Crk Rd - Graves Crk Rd to Hwy 12 to Lolo then back to Missoula.
If anyone is interested I will start out at the warehouse across from the Peak Fitness Center on Blue Mtn Road at 10:00 am.
If I change my plans due to weather I will post here early Saturday morning.
This is about a 50/50 ride.

Southside should be open, I live up Petty and the snow down at that level has been gone for awhile. Petty/Graves has been open for weeks, was pretty greasy the last time I went over it.

80% chance of fun in the sun according to the weatherman this morning. I'll see you there if I don't get stuck working tomorrow.
