I've just been commuting on mine, no just for fun rides at all lately.
Yep same here. Few rides locally on the f800 but haven't been in the timber lately. Been to hot to even fish.
Made a road ride to Mex. MO. for a BBQ and antique car and motorcycle show Sat. Have the sunburn to prove it. BBQ was sold out so had to order fried fish. Thankfully there was a decent breeze among the cars but was still sweating bullets. Was glad to get home to a cool shower.
To hot for ATGATT, did some 4 wheeled adventure riding. Only in the boonies of MO. can you take a break under a shade tree in the lawn at a country club.
Nature taken back over those acres?
New to the forum and looking for people to ride with around the Springfield, Ozark, Nixa area. I ride a DRZ400S that’s pretty off-road capable. Who’s local to this area? Any good FB groups to join? Thanks for the add!
I know where that is.......................
Rode around the course (on the outside of the fence) it was well groomed but no duffers.
Pretty sorry looking shade tree with so many to pick from. But cool photo.
Was that the Graf's car show? I meant to buzz over there but got tied up. I imagine my dad might have had a vehicle or two over there.
That's the one. What does your dad own?
He's got a whole bunch of old crap these days, probably would have been there in a burnt orange '73 Vette, possibly a '94 Vette green with gold stripes
Cool. Someone brought out an Audi Quattro from the Missouri Rally.
Thats a awesome video, what a bad ass crew of riders you got there.
Pike County Fair in Bowling Green is having Dirt Drags again this year. Thursday evening if it doesn't get rained out. I'll be making some passes on the 790r for fun.
Hey y’all I’m planning a trip to Missouri in a few weeks and am going to camp at Johnson’s shut ins. Planning on a couple days of riding the area. Anybody got any good tracks? I’ll be on a KLR alone so not looking for the gnarliest roads imaginable but I’m up for a challenge. TIA
You don't really need tracks to follow in that area just head south and west, it's some of the best in MO. Be sure to eat at Bixby you'll probably run into a fellow rider there.
Plenty over in "Mapping and Navigation" . Here's a collection of the ones that are near to Johnson’s Shut-Ins SP.
Depending on when your couple of weeks is, The Midwest Trail Riders are putting on their Dual Sport and Adventure rides in September. Great riding on either course and camping and meals are included with the event.
Actually that TMOT, TMOT Central and TMORR will take you right from and back to Iowa
Some Northern Missouri today.
Sieg will definitely put you on some good routes.
If your KLR is more street oriented, some of my favorite roads south of Johnson Shut-In's are Hwy C, N, E, and K. Enjoy!
I usually ride a few loops thru southern Illinois from St. Louis every week. Sometimes it's just fun to get lost and explore, but as you said; "Been too HOT". No fun.
