You can explore a lot in Mark Twain NF on your own. Or consider the show me 500 in September. National event with an expert local in charge of routing. Based in Bixby and seig is on here regular.
Or find the Swinging bridges tracks to explore. Or research some on the 100 acre wood car rally in Salem. They hit some good stuff also.
Picture of this year rally with Travis Pastrana ripping it up.

The MTRA club grounds is open next weekend Aug. 21/22, Linda and I will be camping there and scouting/pre-riding/finalizing the Show Me 500 adv ride. I haven't changed it up in a couple years so lots of new stuff planned for this year. Almost I 44 to the north and Clearwater dam to the south.

Yeah we never miss a Loose Nut ride!

Ha, I am not worthy! Must be confusing me with someone else. Hell, I don't even live in MO.

Most locals have seen a fraction of the roads you know.

You open for letting others tag along columbus day weekend? Looking at the loose nut and I'd be interested in that as well. Do you know, showing up as an individual rider, if it's easy to find a group to tag along with? And yes, I can ride all of these things by myself but what is the fun in getting lost alone!

Yah don't trust Sieg- His signature is a lie!!!! He wears out tires four at a time because Linda is always out there too. And yah- his ADV Handle should be "Mark Twain" since it's his Forrest-he's out there so much. :lol3

I have been there once; always thought it would be a great tag. Cannot believe it still stands in fair condition and unmolested. Beautiful historic station

I got out exploring around the west side of Lake of the Ozarks yesterday. Unless you really have a set route it ends up being an endless amount of cove exploring since the only way across is all the way to Warsaw. The sites are interesting…some of the folks may not have been told it’s the 21st century.

I was riding alone and looked over at the fence…the weirdest thing in the middle of nowhere????
    D77EBECA-319A-4BED-8BE7-8C16A6550A78.jpeg
Then I saw this tree???! Thought I was in the twilight zone…

Then a small shed with Grandma and a little girl petting her rabbit selling Mennonite pies.
when I heard the banjos on the porch I thought of deliverance…nice folks tho.

One fella did say I had a purdy smile and asked if my teeth was store bought.

Then i saw a clue where I was at that started to make a little more sense…

P.S. The Rally is a great bike but I think both brakes were stuck….So S-L-O-W….

Always open for additional riders, and from what I read it is easy to find folks to ride with on the loose nut ride

Columbus Day weekend is also the Falling Leaf Rally located at Bass River Resort.
    https://www.gatewayriders.com/falling-leaf/

Although it is predominately BMW all brands are welcomed and there are organized GS off road rides. The facilities are excellent and in the heart of the Ozarks for dirt roads.
Bass River Resort is located in Steelville MO and has a ton of stuff to do for RVers and families too.
    https://bassresort.com/
We go to the Falling Leaf every year and there are usually 200-400 people depending on the weather. Most people of course moto camp, but this location is a great base camp for unloading. They also have a pretty large log cabin complex store with hot pizza/food, drinks and snacks.

Although it’s a very nice place, low quality people often seem to sneak in. This aggressive pan handler is always asking for 401k donations in his cup. I heard he doesn't drink, smoke or chew, but may have a motorcycle problem. Times must be tough- I heard he's riding a Grom now to save money. :lol3

Anybody getting in on these transporter specials? Motoquest offering alaska and west coast transporter specials right now from 10 a day for a vstrom and 10 days to ride from anchorage down to portland. Wish I had the vacation and no house projects. Also gs 750, 850, and 1250 gs for 20, 30, or 40 a day. Btw, I do not work for motoquest or get any compensation, just great deals. Fly and ride rentals for cheap prices and epic scenery. Must be fully vaccinated to cross the border right now, keep that in mind.

    Great idea!
I remember seeing deals like that on Eagle rider. Not in my immediate future but going for life, instead of plugging away as a wage slave is coming for me.
