Have done one ride, but have the go ahead to do more. My one ride was out to Warren Co.. Ha. Seeing the surgeon one last time (I hope) tomorrow morning. Weather looks better this weekend.

First time here in this thread. Hopefully I'm doing this right...

Picked up the tag on the way back from a day of gravel road riding.

New tag from earlier this year, but same bike and was a gravel riding day.

If you can read the sign it should be easy. This isn't in another state to the south, but of a town of the same name. They are connected by river.

Rode up 79 on Sunday morning under a very forboding sky, but didn't get wet. 20180729_072140.jpg

Here is the new tag. It is in a tiny river community, with enough clues in the photo to find it. 20180731_190616.jpg

Here’s the new one. It was so cool today I thought the ski slopes might be open. Unfortunately the lifts were all shut down. It’s an easy one. Let me know if you need clues.

Do I need to post a clue? The current owner of this fine lift is currently in trouble on drug charges. It may not get renovated in the near future. So,, no fences for now.

It looks like a run down place. Not many places to ski in the Midwest.

Ok,, not really for skiing.. (my apologies) It is a rundown lift, it’s used to get a better view.. Along the same body of water that the previous TAG was by. North, and west.

There’s a thousand bikes that go by it every weekend. Hint.. if you take a train there, it’ll be the last train there.
I’ve never seen it operating either. The view up there must not have been that spectacular.

I'm hearing those hints, probably won't be getting the tag. Somehow riding has fallen too low on the list. Grrr.

    Grab.

What a day to ride up to the Clarksville Skylift. Very cool weather, flooded roads (St. Charles County & Pike Co. - Hwy 79 was flooded a mile south of Clarksville, so we had to detour over a gravel road and double back on Hwy. W for a mile or so.

And that song keeps playing in my head... Not thats a problem. I had the album as a kid in the 60s and played it a lot on my dad's RCA hi fi console system from the 50s.

Time for hints (sorry, just checked in this morning after a crazy week @work)...

While there are a fair number of churches and a couple of grottos in STL Tagarama..not this one. I checked all 39 pages! (but, you could get a two for one if you want to grab the current tag and this one within an hour of riding.)

Hermann or Augusta? Good guess, but no. BUT, it's located within a very short walk from the same river as those towns which are up river.

It's obviously behind some buildings. The picture was taken at the end of a T intersection that feeds into 2 alley ways. If you feel brave enough to wheel it onto the sidewalk you could get an interesting picture. Afterwards, you can celebrate with a snack... say a cookie from Grandma. The day we took this picture we had just eaten lunch at the really good Mexican taqueria shop in the same block.

As an aside, my riding partner that day has spent a number of volunteer hours along with his wife helping restore this first church in this first capital town.
I too have contributed to some interior work on it myself. It's available for private tours, maybe a wedding or something like that.
