I see no need to have more than one baseball thread, so here we go, 2020 MLB here we go, any predictions or disappointing/uplifting changes with your team? Let's see, the Wilpons are selling the remaining stake in the Mets to a billionaire that holds a minority stake. For those that don't know, they had 'over 500 accounts' with Madoff. So as they were in the process of building Citifield, I'd estimate hundreds of millions vanished, including future Mets payroll liabilities. These dumb fuckers decided in 1999, that instead of just paying out Bobby Bonilla and cutting him loose for $6M, Madoff pursuaded the Wilpons to instead invest it with him and agree to pay Bobby $1.2M a year until 2035, saying they'd crush it with his 15% yearly returns. He retired 18 years ago. Days before this announcement, they sell one of their more reliable pitchers, Zack Wheeler, to their rivals the Phillies. After all of this, how the fuck are the Mets only 15-1 to win the WS???
