Yea ,and as soon as someone looked decent they'd try to trade em.
You really need to read the real history of baseball , in the early days every game had a fistfight , and not this silly stuff the players do now , a real honest beat hell out of someone brawl . Pitchers all scuffed or cut the ball , spiking was considered part of the game , and they wore real spikes . Here is what is happening right now , no one attached to the game wants to admit how much cheating goes on , the Astros took it too far no doubt , but the game isn't clean like some want to claim . Just like when a college football team gets caught cheating , everyone acts surprised , points fingers , make bold statements about cleaning up the game , then they all go back to cheating , being happy it wasn't them this time . Same with college B ball , the NFL , f1 , motogp , Nascar , boxing , ...you name it . Why do you think MLB hasn't come down harder on the Astros , doing so would open a can of worms they don't want opened .
RIP Tony Fernandez .
OK, Astros fan.
I don't believe that to be the case.
"The MLB" didn't come down harder on the Astros because Rob Manfred is the commisioner. He's a puppet of the ownership, while simultaneously being afraid of the player's union.
Manfred doesn't fucking get it.
Nah , OK maybe during the Dickie Thon , JR Richard , Mike Scott era , and then during the Killer B's era .
Of course Scott was accused of cheating , and then later the Bagwell steroid thing .
If you want to know the truth about baseball , befriend an umpire , those guys know everything
I guess it wouldn’t be unprecedented in sports to give 2017 to the Dodgers. That’s what happens when a horse or a swimmer or a golfer gets DQ after an apparent win.
The Yankees will be playing the White Sox at the “Field of Dreams” corn field in Iowa this summer. It would be very cool if they wore old fashioned looking uniforms.
I would also like to see souvenir trash cans or buzzers whenever a team plays the asstros.
To be authentic there needs to be an on field brawl and someone needs to shoot someone over a gambling debt . Baseball was a rough game in the teens and twenties .
Arnold Rothstein had a good time with the game back then.
Somebody could make real money selling mini trash cans and sticks to bang 'em with wherever the 'Stros are playing.
So the asstros are apparently still stealing signs.
Well. Spring training is over, and regular season is pushed back at least two weeks.
I’m probably the only White Sox fan in here. But even before his broadcasting days this guy threw pure gas. He had some dominating seasons as a reliever back when I was in high school and lived & breathed Sox baseball. Pretty good play-by-play announcer, too.
You know you’re getting old when your sports heroes from the 1970s start to pass on.
^^^ You're in good company as a White Sox fan @Bultaco206 .
I miss baseball already , have been reading the Bill James Baseball Abstract again , the edition published in about 2000 . Highly recommend anyone who is a fan of the game to order a copy , they are cheap on the internet , and will bring hours of entertainment .
Relevant again in light of Covid 19 and not shaking hands.
