We just spanked the San Diego Daddies. Wish I could have seen it!

Baseball has reached the meat of the season , most teams are down to about 60 games , unless some oddity happens like a team going 40-20 any club more than 6 games back will likely not make the post season .

Does anyone see a surprise team , some scheduling oddity that gives a club an advantage other than the Mets having a few more home than away games ?

The one team I can't see finishing .500 where they are now are the Angels , surely they are better than that .

Mets also have a potentially brutal west coast swing with 13 games against LA and SF coming up.

The 2016 World Series champion Cubs are all but traded. Rizzo Thursday, Baez and Bryant today. All that are left are Contrares, Hendricks, and Heyward. I wonder if David Ross knew what he was signing up for?

With 58 games remaining, i’ll be surprised if they win 20 games

But 2016 was five years ago. Chicago had an aging roster and not much good coming through the pipeline. It looks like they're cashing out on what value they have and bringing in some younger talent too. Nats are in a similar position. Now they have some room in their budget. I'd expect to see both teams as buyers during the off-season.

Yep, hindsight being 20/20 I should have waited to purchase my tickets to some games in September. Probably could've gotten them for 1/2 price.

They quit when the Ricketts family quit spending money on the team and focused on buying up all the real estate in Wrigleyville. Now they've become a real estate holding company instead of team owners.

I haven't done a deep dive into everyone they've gotten, but I know they killed it with the White Sox deal. Looks like they will probably put Madrigal at 2nd, and move Nico Hoerner to shortstop in the future. This isn't a bad infield to build around.

As a Cubs fan, yesterday was absolutely gut wrenching. The next year or two will be Jed Hoyer's chance to prove himself. When asked about everything yesterday he said "no point in going halfway."

The Cubs have to rebuild a program. Their biggest issue is that they're not growing talent in the minor leagues. It's not for lack of trying, they've just taken some bets on people that didn't pan out. Happens to every team. The moves they made this year will lay the foundation for them rebuilding their program.

I just watched the Cardinals walk four bases loaded batters in a row. I've seen in previous games where the cards couldn't throw a strike.....but wow.

Just saw where J.R. Richard left us at 71 . What a great talent he was , career really rolling when he had the stroke in 1980 . He would likely have neared 200 wins if not for that .

Mets in second. Braves one game back. Tis the season for the Mets to crash and the Braves to finally start playing.

Went to the Ranger's new (last year) park, and good god, what a soul-less place.

The old stadium (across the street, and only 30 yrs old) was at least a little interesting to look at. The new park might be boringest park I've been to, inside and out.

So, a few days ago in the NBC postgame interviews, Chris Bassitt was wearing this shirt.

Nicole and I howled in laughter because it's so true.

I suspect she ordered me one.

That at least looks like a stadium. Globe life field looks like a crooked hangar / warehouse.
