    Lifelong Mets fan?

    I'm sorry.

    :hide

Seriously though, what did you think about Bobby Valentine's years at the helm?

We liked him on the Rangers though they didn't do much.

I refused to believe that Daryl Strawberry was a drug addict when kids would mention it when I was 6 or so in 1989. :lol3

I liked Bobby Valentine, he lead the Mets to a world series and seemed to be an all around good guy. Getting walloped by the Yanks in the subway series stung a bit though.

I was going to concede you were correct, but Yanks are having a good few weeks with the Astros being outed as cheaters and their largest rival, the Sox, letting go of their star player and firing the coach. Yanks acquiring Arenado would be a fitting finish to this wild off-season, but I don't see that happening.

A bit of a surprise there, but Dodgers makes relative sense - for the Dodgers side of the deal, less so for the Red Sox.

Not sure what they're thinking to be honest, just shedding costs?

Yes plus they weren't going to resign Betts. At least all the talk was he's gone after next season.

I'm just glad the Angels didn't get him. They've been making some big moves, infield and coaching.

With the Astros likely to be worse this season, it may be the A's year for the AL west. We'll have Montas and Fiers as our aces, our new kids Luzardo and Puk in the rotation, Petit, Bassit, Blackburn, Diekman, Gossit, Holmes, Soria, Trevino, Wendelken, etc.
And the baddest man in the biz as our closer, Liam Hendriks.

Those 30 blown saves from last year will be a fluke (highest in the majors).

We had 97 wins and 30 blown saves last year.

If we'd cut that number in half, we would have had 112 wins.

I don't need to tell you what 112 wins means!

Our pitching this year is gonna be incredible.

The Angels ruined their future when they signed Pujols to that stupid money contract at the age of 31 . Mike Trout has probably been the best player in baseball for the last 9 years , but the Pujols lunacy has meant they couldn't build a team.

As for Houston , no idea what will happen , baseball is a funny game , Oakland might very well win 110 games in 2020 , then again , they might lose 80 games .

Seriously , for sentimental reasons , it would be wonderful to see Cleveland or Milwaukee have a good run .

Today's trivia question . Which team has the highest win total for one year , two years , three years , four years , five years ...all the way to ten years ? Same team . As always , no peeking . The winner gets an attaboy .

    I’m going Angels or Yankees.

Edit: Cardinals have me rubbing my chin, too. So I guess nevermind. :photog

The angels problem isn't payroll, lack of payroll, or inability or unwillingness to pay more. It's just that almost everything they do just doesn't fucking end up working out.

    Yeah, well, Rendon on third.
    La Stella, second.
Stassi and Castro behind the dish.
Pujols still at first. Couple young guys behind him.
    Bedrosian...many other good pitchers.

    Joe Maddon at the helm.

It's not gonna be 2019, for better I'm sure.

That's the Cubs problem. Bunch of money on Lester who is aging out. Bunch on Brandon Morrow who stays hurt. Then of course Jason Heyward who was a flop(hitting wise).
