I'm starting this thread to document some information this guy "grasshopper" from chicagolandsportbikes.com (Nick) gave me on a riding area near Momence IL. Lots of sand dunes and many acres of riding. Its in a middle of nowhere town called Hopkins Park. He says people ride there all the time and cops never say anything. If you drive into Hopkins park you will see the sand dunes to the East. drive down a gravel road and look for parked pickups and trailers.

I plan on checking it out once spring rolls around:thumb Anyone ever been there?

Good point. great thing about sand is you can ride it in any weather. Oh, wait, like you guys care about weather and traction and all that jazz.

    Lets keep it in mind...

I've ridden some gravel over that way (near Indiana) on the V-Strom. There alot of old strip mines. I've also stumpeled onto some sandy roads over there. That's where GPS would; You could figure how to mark the areas and return!!
