A week's ADVenture around Western Montana!

    :ricky:ricky:ricky:ricky:ricky:ricky:ricky :ricky:ricky:ricky:ricky:ricky:ricky:ricky

Arrive the Darby Loggers Day fairground anytime Saturday, July 17 2010.

    Location is here.

Leave at dawn Sunday July 18 2010.

Please sign up for WestFest separately in this thread.

Return home Sunday, July 25 2010.

All ADVriders welcome! This will be a mostly dirt ride, easy route will be mostly public and forest service dirt roads. Alternate "hard" routes will be possible on "big" ADV bikes. Single track may be included, but should be possible on big bikes.

No porta potties, no band, no posing, just a big ride with GPS coords as meeting places every night at a new location, and scouted routes w/alternates for riders of different levels between.

    Hayduke is doing the t-shirts.

Shirts will be brought to the rally for delivery.
Stickers will also be available for purchase at the rally.

And a big thanks to Iron Horse for the cool logo! :thumb

Huge thanks to MoonDogMT for this one-stop route information site.
    Current information is preliminary.
Final route information might not be available untill two weeks before ride.
Watch carefully, and wait til the last minute if you want the latest route and nightly sites correct in your GPS!
Final nightly bivouack sites will not be set until pre-rides are done.
In some cases we'll have to wait til last minute for roads to be open.
    Thanks for your understanding.

If you want to ship tires up here, please contact ShadyRascal by PM, he will receive them at his house, and I will get them down to the MT1000 start.

Trip is in the planning stages right now, planning is here.

Mark your vacation calander now and join us for the fun!

    MONTANA 1000 ANNOUNCEMENTS

I suspect we might get big quickly. There will likely be some issues finding bivouac sites if the numbers get too unwieldy. Please be sure this is really something you want to do before signing up so that we can plan carefully.

    It'll be fucking fun, I guaran-damn-tee ya'.

We'll be posting bivouac coords, we will plan for 100 but it really doesn't matter --- after all, it'll all be on public roads and govt owned shit so you can do what you want, you'll know where we be.

This ride is open to as many as who are willing to come.

I'm not maintaining the inlist anymore, there's just too many and all are welcome, just show up, no charge.
If you are going to WestFest after PLEASE sign in in the WestFest thread, see instructions in first post.

    Yup.

Well ... I'm bringing all my camping gear, but no planned meals or anything. Just stopping at gas stations and grocery stores to buy the stuff you'll eat.

Basically, yer gettin' what yer bringing.

Yes, we have bears in town sometimes, but they live mostly out in the woods ... where we're going!

Glad you're going to try to make it Dan. :wave

You too Duke. Yer a heck of an instigator on this one. :thumb

    Hey Tim! :wave

Glad to here you're thinking of coming along. It's gonna be hard to beat Colorado for it's killer roads and scenery, we'll come close but the real treat for you guys will be feeling like you're in the middle of nowhere ... which you will be much of the time.

Fair warning here: epect 100 miles between some gas stops! We'll likely have a hack or a coupla mules that can tote a few extra cans for emergencies, but you should plan for 100 mile legs sometimes.

Putts this was a easy decision. A number of us have been thinking of type rally for a long time. I am excited to be a part of this. It should be great.

Only 100 miles between stops. Sounds like a easy day or two to me. :lol3

Actually, I meant 100 mi between gas stops. I'm reckoning the usual day will be 180 or so.

Still pretty :bubba since it'll likely be mostly farm and forest service roads, and better.
