just a bit to much snow to make it over the top so i could get a track run on sunday. kinda figured that would be the case, but i didn't wanna mow the lawn and i really didn't wanna clean the house. ill get the track run from dell to where the bannack road hits hwy 278, maybe this weekend weather permiting. i know its gonna be awhile yet before i can run the byway over to Wise River. both Lima and Dell have store/gas, inc 91 oct. if youre gonna need something to fix for dinner, either place would be good. if you are in need of liquid refreshment the Peat bar in Lima would be a good place to check out, cool old time bar. Yesterday's cafe is still open in Dell. we always called it the school house. they built a bar onto it so you can get some refreshment there also. Dell Merc is the store/gas. Morrison lake is close to where day 5 incampment is going to be. all you that wanna fish, it would be a good place to camp. ill run a track up to it when i go through there and make sure the road is open, as its been awhile since ive been up there. at one time Grant used to have a small store with gas. ill stop there and see if thats still the case. if they do it would probably only be 87 oct. but ill check so i know for sure. Bannack is pretty cool i think it would be worth stoppin there. above Bannack is road agents rock. its where Plummer and his boys watched for stages to rob. its 2 track but a good road. ill run a track up there i can wear my vid camera so you can see how the road is if anyone is interested in that. as has been said, the grasshopper inn, which is by Elkhorn has gas. ill stop there and make sure its 93 oct. there is a small store off of the road a bit opposite the grasshopper inn called Ma Barnes store. Wise River does have a small store with gas, but im guessin its only gonna be 87 oct. ill check that out to see for sure. there is the Wisr River club and another small place that you can get something to eat if so inclined. the next place for gas is goin to be Wisdom. Fetty's bar and cafe is a good place to get something to eat there. there is a couple different ways to get from the Big Hole over to the Bitterroot for those that wanna take dirt as opposed to blacktop, which come out at Sula. i think you can go from Sula to Darby on dirt but one of the Bitterroot brethren is gonna have to chime in on that. i know its gonna be at least a month before a track can be run out of the Big Hole.
