it was a previous thread last year so I don't remember squat. lemme search...
no 6-speed threads but here is a nice thread for the dreamers:
Regarding changing out the 5th gear on an LC4 (SXC same?):
I quote steelhead from that thread:
Aha! Now all we need is a case splitting Beta tester!! Could this be the holy grail of the LC4?
WOOT DERE IT IS!!!
loaded owes you a hummer!
Main 583.33.008.006 27z
counter 583.33.011.009 18z
What I don't understand is how can a 27 tooth m/s match up to the same 18 tooth c/s which is in my box now? My original is 22/18.
There is apparently also a 21 c/s (part58333011007).
some kinda wierd ass zen thing ya think?
Naa... yer' both goobers, that's all.
you've been sniffing glue. i don't give hummers to folk i don't know
ron's a fruitcake... he fits right into our little wierdass crew... had beers with the sumbitch a wee while ago. lets talk him into comin out for the palooza.
creeper's got pics...
yeah... but i know them.
is there a better way to get to know somebody?
I do... but Loaded was wearing my helmet to avoid identification. Would you like to see it?
I guess that is one way to throw loaded's thread in the sewer.
wait, you two share helmets? that will get people talkin'...
wait, they already do.
sorry, i am getting antsy about leaving town on the cycle. work's draggin', the wind's pickin up, the rain forecast is gettin pushed forward (sattelite maps dont look good...). can I go yet?!?
Once your on the road... nothing else will matter anyway... it all gets blown behind you. :uhhuh
No... he was trying on my helmet to determine what size to get for himself... wanker.
Then he got down on his knees, in front of me, with my wife standing near by... Then we went to the Vancouver SuperCross.
I might be willin to try this tall 5th gear on my '96 620, as soon as I get my new 625 set up to ride.
man you tax him that hard to go to the supercross with ya?!?
wife called: its already raining in the valley (where I'm headed). preparing to get wet... oh yeah, heard the michelin desert is worthless on wet pavement
Here is the Beta tester!!!
Yeah well I never did like the wide space between first and second on that bike, and I heard they changed that in 97, so if I'm gonna open it up I might as well try to get a closer 1st to 2nd and drop in a taller 5th.
I'm gonna have to do some serious parts ficheing. As it is I blew a fork seal on the old marzochi forks on a 1700 mile ride last weekend so the old thing needs a bit of work.
BTW, I'm picking up my slightly used 625sxc next week, anyone know the best setup going to keep the fork seals alive on those 43 USD forks? Those forks look a might vulnerable down there.
