Starting a thread for riding the WABDR summer/fall of 2020. Reaching out to the Inmates who got together and rode Death Valley in January, and any who would be interested in riding the WABDR with arguably one of the most obscure MC brand/models out there.
Post up your available dates. As of now, I'm open to pretty much anything late August, mid September...

I'll ride the support vehicle. My available date range is the same.

September may be the best choice at this point. I think a lot of states are re evaluating the whole re opening thing. It's getting out of hand here in California. A lot of rhetoric and the Governor feeling he has to do somethin...
At some point Bubba and I are wanting to get away for a few weeks. We were thinking of going to NM and Carlsbad Caverns then up to see relatives in Kansas. That isn't happening. Now we're thinking of either Banff or MD somewhere and exploring the mid Atlantic for 10 days or so.

Are we still looking at the last half or August or the last half of September? Trying to schedule some equipment to work on my property, and don't want to loose a deposit so I can ride with you Knuckleheads!!! LOL

I will be in England until mid August. Hopefully they'll let me back into the country without having to self quarantine for 2 weeks. Mid September works for me. If August works better for you guys just go for it.

So this thing is starting to drop off the list. Are we waiting to see what the Covid thing brings? I'm still in for doing it.

I'm still in England until the end of August. Have another job early September but keep the rest of my schedule open for the WABDR or other motorcycle fun. Things may change, but I've been traveling for almost 2 months now all over the US and the last few weeks in England. Going on a motorcycle ride in the middle of nowhere is probably the best way to avoid COVID.

Edit: Ordered a set of Bridgestone AX41 tires yesterday in preparation for the trip. The Shinko 805 that I installed before the DV trip is bald.

Yeah, now that I'm actually riding on a semi regular basis, mine are pretty well toast as well.

Ok, to get the ball rolling I propose a date of 8/24 9:00 Oregon side of the Bridge of the gods. Once we get a consensus on a start date I will order up a set of tires and put in the PTO. I'll leave Saturday morning for the 12 hour ride to get there, figuring I'll spend Sunday night in the vicinity. Figure it will take 3-4 days to do the ride (even having to wait for Friesian and the Honda) leaving plenty of time for me to get back to Clovis. I'm still flexible to move it a week or two further out, but will start encroaching on some other plans if we get to far. I may even be able to get out a week sooner if we go that way.

I feel like I just woke from a coma. How did I not see this?

I just broke the news to my favorite woman.

    24th works for me.

I see what you did there.
For the record, we had zero equipment failures in DV.

Me, I'm going to check my tire pressure before I leave town. Probably.

I’ll probably check mine as well.
I’m more concerned about riding up and down I 5 in the middle of August. It’s going to be HOT HOT HOT! I might have to think about alternative riding times if it’s to far into the triple digits...

I guess I'm out... Been in line 6 weeks for the dealer to look at this bike and hopefully fix it. It goes in the shop on the 21st. Damn it!
