Yes that is what I know but I'm already two months in and 4 additional months won't be enough. Fines are like 700.000 pesos a month (or even a day, can't remember) for overstaying.

    Thanks for checking though.

I saw this today, and though this is probably not considered a ruin I had to take a pic for you, at least they gave it a ruinish look :D

So I might have to go back to Cartagena to store my bike...

It's like a mysterious force is keeping me from going south.... whatever may lay there

    Here's a representative lady...

And here's me with Luis... after I've been obviously out of Zapote range I finally manages to find Nispero!

Should maybe have taken a picture of his lady-kid too ;)

Some of my local friends... went on a weekendride with them...

It really hurts to see all those great dirtroads winding up their way into the mountains, being asked to go and ride them and then say "no" :(

What else can I do than eat strange stuff now?

It's an Hormiga Culona, Big Butt Ant... and of course the queen! :D

    Again, no Zapote, grrrrrr!!!!

And then a bit of home... having to ride another unpleasant "no" has to be spoken.

The farmers market from above... is that where they farm their products?

And down there is Bucaramanga... a town that reminds me somewhat of an american town... the slums have been moved very outside the town, so the center is all pretty clean.

GirĂ³n is an interesting place. Visited at night so not too many photos as I didn't bring my camera. The whole town is a monument, a bit like Antigua you can't just go and fix that hole in your wall or paint it.

The whole town is basically black & white. Or brown & white. All walls have to be white, all doors and windows dark brown. Even the business letter signs are monotone. The else so shiney red claro sign is here just black with white letters.

Sorry thats really all that came out of my phone... Basically the only color in this "old town" are the green of the trees and my blue t-shirt :D

Bucaramanga out... Have to take care of my knee... has been worse ever since the sunday ride. Maybe riding isn't such a good idea after all :(

Phil, you might want to contact Al @theturtleshead He can likely fill you in on some subtleties regarding long term storage there. Best wishes.

Great choice for Overlanding mate :clap

Is there room or strength on the rear for a motorcycle rack? A scooter or small cc moto.

I hope you can keep posting your adventures here

It's probably possible to add a rack for a light bike...

Sorry you had to give up the bike for "that cool thing". :(

Hopefully you enjoy yourself and are able to not miss the bike too much.

    Bon voyage!
