So, today route 66 Elementary school in Edgewood, NM. left it`s heat off per the Governors orders. Well guess what happens when it`s 19 degrees outside temp? Heat was off due to the school had not been out fitted with a covid compliant filter system yet! Such stupidity is just amazing.

Why is the Principal using a canoe down the hall?:imaposer

My son in law and me have brisket cook offs .
We started talking covid temps. Risk it for brisket. So i read a little. Seems like refrigeration actually extends the life of the virus
Now freezing till the pipes burst i don’t know about that

My friend got booted from rehab place last Thursday because his insurance will not pay after that.I visited yesterday and he is lifting 5 lb weights trying to get muscle mass back faster.Sucking 2 liters of oxygen per hour but he has some color back in his face. The figured he had a stroke in all this bs that messed up his left arm and leg some but his feeling is coming back and he can walk about 40 feet. His eyes look like a holocaust survivor after all this.Happy to see he has a ton of fight and this shit is not going to stop him.Mask mandate from govenor is stupid.I have cop friends and they will not enforce. Not much masking going on here. I have many friends that have had it now and only 1 that got messed up by it.Honestly I would rather get covid than the flu as I have none of the pre existing conditions. Thinking about a trip down to croom in Florida later this winter if I can ride there. If I find I pull 9 days away from here will pm husband to see if i can ride there. From what I see here if you have bad pre existing conditions be safe.

That really sucks about being booted with the insurance. But that shit does happen. My brother moved from Indiana to California as his lifetime max on his health insurance was hit by his wife. It took her ten years to pass away. He is a lineman, so he was making good money but was always broke. Covid is still at only 2.5% death rate, but you sure don`t want to chance it if you have health issues. Imagine if this was above 10%. We are flat out over populated to handle a real Pandemic.

I cannot fathom what the expense of what he went through would be.Flight for life,at least 3 weeks on vent on paralytic drugs,3 hospitals and then recovery place.Just glad he made it through the ordeal. I hope he now starts taking care of himself better now.He lost over 80 lbs and now close to what he should weigh. At moment he is working out with 5lb weights to start getting some muscle back.

I want to make a joke about the weight loss, but I'm just glad to hear your friend is making progress.

Thank you for sharing these updates with us and adding a different perspective.

So my my 83 yr old mother had a fall 4 months ago and was very active until then. She has had to use a walker ever since. She had back surgery scheduled this morning. Her surgeons office called about 4pm yesterday saying all elective surgeries have been canceled for an indefinite amount of time. Either we are going to start another lock down today or they are just worried about the number of hospital beds available. It would have been a 4 day hospital stay for her.

I wish her the best Bob. I'm beginning to wonder if my hip surgery next month will be cancelled? A pretty good spike in cases in my general area.

That’s a damned good reason that we should not be having “mass gatherings “
    Just sayin’

Hope that she can get some relief soon.
