Looks like he stopped pushing at the exact instant MM needed him not to stop!

The Cat here watches races, what he hates is if a fly lands on the screen.
If one lands he races over and tries to snag and eat the fly,and he is fast.

As others have said, Road Atlanta would not get approval and I don't think the owners would pay for the up grades needed and it is short.
In my opinion the track lost its character after the took out the "gravity cavity".

If I remember correctly, IMS is the only Level1 circuit approved by the FIM for MotoGP. Laguna and Miller are level2, suitable for WSBK.
Canadian Tire Motorsports Park ( Mosport) was approached by a 3rd party regarding MotoGP, not interested.
I know many in the paddock that enjoyed IMS, and as the only US round I think the the attendance would be adequate . The problem with IMS is timing. April is too early, and the chance of a stand alone fly-away is less than zero.

Too bad Mosport wouldn’t work, a fantastic setting and circuit.

For all the bump bitching, I don't think it was the cause of any of the crashes. MM has certainly be far further out of shape before, same with Cal and everyone else "handled it." Could it, should it be better, of course. But maybe Schwantz has a point...it is the same for everyone and rewards those who can figure it out, not crash and still be fast.

You see Marquez get loose coming down the back stretch? I think it was Friday. It could have been very bad.

Bumps in corners are one thing but bumps down a straight away when going 200mph+ is just plain dangerous. Aleix called it a motocross track. Jack shared a picture of him with both tires a couple inches off the ground with the caption "hope to keep at least one tire on the ground today".

Saw a nasty high side in Moto3 Friday right in front of Hayden hill (turn 17 or 18?) thar was most definitely due to a bump. Had watched everyone in all 3 classes come around that corner and have a bunch of movement hitting a dip/bump. Couldn't physically see anything on the track, just the suspension compressing hard and bikes moving around.

I hear what you're saying but it could always "be bad." My point is this: make the track/corner/situation "easier" and racers will not slow down to increase their safety margin, they will simply go faster. Bumps are a constant...same place, same line, every lap. Adjust. Much easier, IMO than a drying track, for example. That condition changes constantly, and races are run in those conditions all the time.

Yup, smoother is better. But they will just go faster.

Welp, the guys who figured it out still think it's gone too far and needs to be fixed...

Re: the 17/18 bump, you probably mean 18. The Moto3 race leader Sunday crashed there.

    Adjust? Really?

To expect these blokes to endure track conditions like this riding those sling shots is just plain not on.

I am not sure. I saw it at the track and it was from the front. It seemed worse than that but maybe it was my imagination.

I do know that Jack mentioned MMs "big moment" on the back straight and then having one himself during the race.

    I just watched the 3’s.

Turn 18 took its toll on the moto3 riders.

Yep. Miller's comments about that are in the bit I posted above from the "My feet came off" article. Says he thought his number was up & he was about to die. Pretty amazing. I think it's pretty telling when all three podium riders and the guy who led a lot of the race from the start say the track is in terrible shape.

Can't remember if it's been posted here, but this is pretty scary, too.
