Last week at the Isle of Man TT
This was a near miss.
I am from California and used to splitting. I ended up splitting between the car and it's decapitated wheel. If I was in my truck I probably would have hit both. The wheel went off to my right and cratered into a Prius' hood where the rim and the tire then separated. The car passed on my left and ended up hitting about 3 cars as it continued around the curve.
If you like stupid drama, back in the day I started a thread here about it, where I tried to discuss it and get some talk going about what worked and safe riding in general.
Mind The Gap: Guardian Angel Clocks In Some Overtime
I would say that was a failure since I don't think it made it past about 3 pages. I remember one inmate posted early support of the videos but later deleted his post when I received too much criticism. At least I guess that's what happened.
Instead of discussing what happened or a conversation sharing ideas and technique that could help others, it quickly devolved to where I was defending against stupid attacks, people offended that I might be telling them what to do or teaching them something, and people who were criticizing other things in the video that had nothing to do with the crash, like me lane splitting as I rode away. Why? That got old pretty fast.
There are four videos about this event.
Besides on my YouTube channel (ShadowBoxer), they are linked in the thread if you want to check it out.
I don't want to pollute this nice thread with drama. The idea was Post Your Best. For me these pix are some of my best at the moment. For different reasons but I'm happy about these pix.
If you want to discuss the close call you can help me and others by leaving comments on the videos on YouTube or on the threads here. I recently posted some of my thoughts on Close Calls on this guy's "Close Call of the Day" thread.
Close Call of the Day

At the bottom of that post is a short video (about 2 minutes) where I show the crash in normal speed and slow motion a few times - 2 cameras.
Stay Sharp. Stay Up.
This is a beautiful shot!
I'm guessing it's in Idaho, yes?
Wow. That was a close call. Glad you made it out unscathed. Luck was on your side that day my friend.
A couple of quick iPhone snaps from last night's quick blast up the hill. Man, I love this little beast...
Yes it's the road from blacks creek to Prairie Id.
Long Gulch Road if memory serves. Boy, haven't been to Prairie in 20 years.
Papa, you need to show a view of your kitchen.
The whole rig is brilliant!
And a t rex :)
The Rim of the World Highway in San Bernadino, CA...
Panoramic views at 6,400 feet...
That was one of my regular rides when I lived there. Many a time chp chased me up the 2 lane race track. They didn't know I was willing to ride my zx12r in the dirt too.
Idaho looks lovely.
One of the reasons I go away on my bike, other than to get to work.
Not my best but my best from last week
