They each have their pro's and con's. To each their own - choice is good.
I was, actually, leaning toward getting the R9T Pure. However, BMW(in the U.S.) currently has a $1,500 rebate on the Scrambler, which brought the price close enough, to the Pure, for me to justify the switch. I do prefer the slightly more relaxed riding position, the 19” front wheel and the look, of the Scrambler, and am very happy with my choice.
The primary reason for deciding on BMW, over other brands, is my familiarity with the air/oil cooled Boxer engine(I previously owned an R1150GS), much better trade in offered on my old bike(by a dealer I’ve done business with previously) and last, but not least, shaft final drive. It’s just nice to get on the bike and ride, without messing around with a chain.....especially when on a trip.
Took the long way into work yesterday. Otay Mtn with Baja under the clouds in the back.

The bike's not hurting anything either.
Sweet bike! That (shorty?) silencer looks like it might be a problem heat-wise. No? And does it preclude riding two-up?
It is no more hot than the Arrow OEM! It is very uncomfortable at stop lights. I never ride 2 up so I am not sure how a pillion would fare.......

I sometimes carry the tiny Panasonic Lumix GM1 in my camelbak. These were taken on it using a 42.5mm f1.7 lens (85mm equivalent). Still a tiny combo
