The various shops are somewhere hidden in the bowels of so many TAT ride reports, however there is a good one at the new trail head in Tellico Plains, TN. Remember the TAT now starts in Tellico Plains, TN and the motostore's name is:

This was written by the new owner of the shop

    "Hi fellow ADV Riders!

My wife & I have opened a small gear shop in Tellico Plains, TN just off the Cherohala Skyway, and about 45 minutes from Deals Gap / 129 “the Dragon”. The shop is on the town square in Tellico Plains."

Thanks, we're starting in Charleston or Savannah and will be meeting up with the TAT in Tellico Plains. I'm sure we'll stop by your shop.

Anyone know of any others along the route?

    Another stopover for Motos....

Sam Correro (creator of the Trans America Trail) and Lake Hill Motors and marine (Honda and Yamaha dealer) of Corinth, Mississippi have teamed up to host a one day DualSport ride.

I have a growing list of shops along the TAT with their contact details, exact location and distance off the (official Sam Corerro) TAT track. Some have been vetted by me personally, most are submitted to me by other riders who have had their bikes serviced there.

If you know of any off the TAT, please send them to me so I can keep the list up to date!

Lake Hill Motors in Corinth, Ms. They do a TAT ride with Sam every June on the trails around Ms and Tn. All the guys are riders and racers. They have a great museum in the shop, too.

Basically, we meet at Lake Hill Motors in Corinth, MS. Sam Correro hands out some maps or downloads the route on your GPS. There are rides on Saturday and Sunday. It follows the TAT. Much of it in this area is pavement, but there is some single track and two track. We break up into groups. Some faster and some more relaxed. They have had a meal on Saturday in the past but I don't think they did that last year. I'm just friends with the owners, so don't know how they'll do it this year. It's a fun get together. They have a great museum with a good collection of bikes.

Here's a few for you. Sorry, this is all I have. The only one I've used personally is MadBro. We stopped there to get our air filters and filter skins cleaned and oiled. It appeared to be a mom-and-pop sort of place, very nice people, and didn't charge me much for the filter service. Later that evening we saw one of their mechanics at a local brewpub and even when off the clock he was very helpful with information regarding trails and possible side trips in the area.

In CO and UT where there a lot of motorcycles and ATVs around you'll often find that auto parts stores carry some generic things like tubes and batteries.
